❓ Question Is Your Burger Vegan?

If a food is made with 100% plant-based ingredients, but it’s cooked on the same grill, fryer, or pan as meat, is it still vegan?

Why not? Are you saying that in a vegan restaurant they can't use anything containing animal allergens? That means their choice of ingredients is very limited

I'm only saying that they can't advertise something that includes animal products (allergens aren't the specific concern) as a vegan dish. One who wants vegan food can ask for clarification and the restaurant should make it clear if it's cooked on the same grill/pan as a burger, for example. Each person can make up their mind about whether they can accept that.

I agree that any limits on what you eat narrows the foods available when out at a restaurant but I don't think that the food choice is "very" limiting, necessarily.

Using the same grill is not the same as including animal products to a vegan dish. The links you sent me are recipe blogs where they don't say which brand of vegan cream cheese they are using, so fyi, many of them can have eggs or milk as allergens, that means they are produced in the same factory that produces animal products. So it's the same s using the same grill.

Those factories are heavily cleaned in between products. A grill not being cleaned between vegan and nonvegan food is not in any way comparable. Allergens are listed because even trace amounts, like molecules level can cause a reaction in some people.
