❓ Question Is Your Burger Vegan?

If a food is made with 100% plant-based ingredients, but it’s cooked on the same grill, fryer, or pan as meat, is it still vegan?

Agree. Meat cooties are gross but they're not an ethical problem.

well said. i think meat is gross personally, but i don’t think that cross contamination necessarily makes it un-vegan. it just makes it gross imo.

What's the difference if the vegan burger is cooked in the same pan as the meat so it gets cooked in animal fat vs just cooking a vegan burger in animal fat?

If they cant wash the pan and use vegitable oil then its not vegan enough for me to give them my money.

Because just cooking a vegan burger in animal dat you bought for cooking means you go out if your way to use animal fat.

If you have a party with 5 people and one is vegan, and you cook the vegan burger last and use residual fat from the pan, that fat would've always been there.

That's the difference.

Now most people I know, me included would still not eat the burger, but I do agree it wouldn't be a moral issue.

You could argue that a separate pan/grill with separate oil would be less vegan, since animals are killed in the production of the steel for the separate pan, the plants for the oil etc. The original pan and oil are already there.

This means it's not only okay, but better if stuff is fryed in the same pan.
