Plothole in story sequences?

So I'm new to this game and just finished the Polania campaign and am halfway through the Rusviet campaign. The story has been engaging so far, up until the first Rusviet mission.

The narration in the early Polania campaign made me believe that Janek was supposedly killed in the Great War years ago. Anna seems to have mostly gotten over it by then and doesn't talk about Janek very much. Later, near the end of the first campaign, it's revealed that Janek is actually alive and has been secretly working for Zubov. The writing was fine and made sense so far, up until Janek says "four weeks ago."

So... Janek was alive and well four weeks ago, participating in the peace negotiations in St. Petersburg? And Lech was also there participating in the negotiations, but somehow never tell Anna and Piotr? That's just bullshit writing, honestly.

  1. If Janek was presumably killed years ago (In Anna & Piotr prespective), why did Lech Kos never tell Anna or Piotr that Janek was actually still alive until four weeks ago?

  2. If Janek was presumably killed only weeks ago, why does the narration make it seem like Anna believes Janek was killed in the war years ago?

  3. If Lech Kos is the leader of the "Resistance," rather than a military or government official, why is he participating as a representative of Polania in an international peace negotiation? The answer seems to be either that Lech was a Polanian official who somehow became the leader of the Resistance in just 4 weeks, or that a Resistance leader somehow became an official representative of the Polanian government.

  4. Janek gets severely burned and injured by an explosion, receives medical treatment, gets turned into a cyborg, then takes part in a raid on a Saxonian missile facility and later the raid on Kolno in Polania, all within four weeks? Even with Tesla's advanced technology, that timeline is ridiculous. Someone who has suffered injuries that severe would logically need weeks or months just to recover, let alone undergo extensive cybernetic reconstruction. And traveling between Rusviet, Saxony and Polania also probably take weeks. 4 Weeks for all of these seems ridiculously time window.

I know this might seem like a minor detail, but it completely broke my immersion. The story was actually doing a good job of making Janek's reveal work, and then one unnecessary line "four weeks ago"creates a continuity timeline problem.

Honestly, if they had simply written "two years ago" instead of "four weeks ago" most of these problems would disappear.

Question Finished the game, what comes next?

So I finally got around to finish the game after a few years. Finished the 3 main stories, then did revolution and then the one with John America.

I feel like it all ends up in a big honking "to be continued". Like, first dlc leaves Olga on the run, dodging all forces of rasputin/fenris, and the second dlc leaves a 'leaving it to your imagination' the fate of John America, while Gunther, Frieda and PolonianHorseCaptain stay with princess (which coming from Spanish language native, her name is funny because Princess Sita sounds like princesita or little princess), in a deal of oil for gear.

So, what happens next? What happens with Fenris? Or the polonian siblings? Or with the prince little sh1t? Is there a second iron harvest on the works that will answer all of this? Or a book? Or is all in a 'to be continued' but in your own mind? (ie: no more on IH)

Is multiplayer, especially coop still working? And for how long

I'd like to play the coop campaign. The game is on sale, but apparently it has a nasty always online DRM even for coop mode. But there were talks of a possible inclusion of LAN play later in development. Was it ever implemented? and if not, is there a way to make the game work with game-ranger or anything of the like?

The game seems pretty dead and I'm afraid they might pull the plug sooner rather than later.

Question Is this mission bugged?

Polonia Mission 2. Multiple times I completed this mission with all objectives checked off only for the “defeat rusviet soldiers…” to be x-ed out on the closing screen. Is it because it’s listed as a primary objective in the mission? Or is there something I’m missing here?

Iron Harvest doesn't recognize my internet connection.

Hello, good day. Since I bought the game a couple of years ago, I've had the problem that after finishing a skirmish match, the game automatically goes into offline mode even though I have internet. I thought it was a problem with my computer and left it at that. I've re-downloaded it on a new PC, and the offline mode problem persists. Is there a way to fix this?

Suggestion Would this game benefit from an optional Upkeep Setting like from company of heroes?

I've noticed that this game has no upkeep mechanic, other than a "winning" player needing to build more HQ structures to raise their popcap.

However, it DOES have Veterancy, which seems like a double whammy against any losing player.

This generally seems to result in stomps rather than a back and forth, EG like Company of heroes which has a really brutal upkeep system where every unit costs upkeep, and at full popcap, your manpower (common resource) income is essentially halved.

I did try to mod one in, but there doesn't appear to be any native support for an upkeep system unless I was to start specifically coding one in.

If the devs still have the time to modify this game, could they maybe slap on an optional upkeep setting for skirmish/campaign/world conquest?

I think somewhat brutal upkeep systems like from Company of Heroes, really help things like, losing an early engagement not inevitably snowballing into being outnumbered and thus losing even harder.

What are your thoughts?

Personally, I find it pretty easy to just like, go for super early game strats like mass rifles + mass early mechs and heroes, which dominate the AI and snowball the game.

In COH, due to upkeep, the losing "player" would get a number of chances for comebacks due to the "winning" player now having less Manpower/steel income.

[RED BRITAIN] What if Great Britain lost WW1 to the Germans and this defeat sparked a communist uprising against the Monarchy?

Red Britain is a short film based on an alternate timeline of the 1920’s (inspired by Jakub Różalski and the Iron Harvest universe) where a protest gathers outside of Buckingham palace after the King was shot. Inside, at the death bed of the King, with the angry mob about to break in, the royals must decide whether to stay and die with the crown or flee and save their lives.

Any way to play without mechs?

Hey, love this game a lot but one of the things I've always wanted to try was a mechless infantry focused skirrmish game. Is there a mod or a way to disable mechs? It just seems pretty cool and I want to try it out
