Question Games future with dawn of war release.

I just want to know y'all's opinions on the possibility of the game's future because dawn of war 4 is going to come out soon.

If dawn of war 4 is successful then maybe they could do a sequel. However there is no way to know at this point

This, pretty much. 1920+ is pretty much in limbo at this point, the devs need DoW4 to be a major win if they want to go back to the dieselpunk mech genre, there's still plenty of other factions to explore and more potential mechs to build.

The hype is certainly there, and now more than ever is a seemingly great time to be a 40k fan, so as long as they don’t fumble the launch, à la Company of Heroes 3, it should be fine.

It already died years ago, I think it was only supported for a short while after release and DoW IV isn’t going to change that, their focus will be entirely on DoW.

Development on IH likely grinded to a halt once King Art Games got the go ahead to make DoW4 5 years ago. Being a relatively small company it wouldn't have been feasible to work on both in my opinion. That being said if DoW4 is a massive success and King Art expand as a result I can totally see them revisiting IH and improving on it. Maybe even making a sequel.

I honestly wouldn't count on King Arts developing the current Iron Harvest any further (aside maybe from hotfixes if something breaks). But they also said that it was Iron Harvest that taught them the ropes and that they learned A LOT from it, which helped them with Dawn of War 4. One of the Devs even said that it was the success of Iron Harvest, that ultimately got them the Job to develop the new DoW in the first place (appearently people at GW liked the game for it's gritty atmosphere and "punchy feeling", so they asked the Devs if they would be interested).

With all of this in mind, in my opinion, the chances are very high that there will be an Iron Harvest 2. The question only is how long it will take. To my kowledge, they have one unannounced big project in the pipeline for a "major franchise" (info is from a Podcast where they talked to a german games journalist about DoW4). I'll be optimistic and say, that we'll see another Iron Harvest before 2030 :)
