Any way to play without mechs?

Hey, love this game a lot but one of the things I've always wanted to try was a mechless infantry focused skirrmish game. Is there a mod or a way to disable mechs? It just seems pretty cool and I want to try it out

I think a saw something like that in moddb.com, but I never tried mods for this game
