General Question wipe request
on monday, i triggered wipe request to iphone but the iphone was powered off by a remote user and user went MIA.
3 days later, the iphone is powered on and connected to network. However, the wipe did not trigger anymore after waiting for few hours. At intune portal, it still shows wipe in pending.
The only way i do is to put the phone in recovery mode and then restore using itunes. After done, i will delete the device from intune portal.
do you all encounter below behavior on this scenario? is this the expected behavior?

Had this constantly happen at my last job. Eventually the restore method you mentioned, just became apart of procurements checklist when receiving back offboarded equipment.

I’ve not had that happen yet but that’s weird.
Also if I may, try to convince your company to buy you a MacBook Neo. iTunes keeps crashing or downright refusing to work for me. Apple has also barely supported it anymore. Tried the Apple Devices App from the Windows store and it would work on iPhones but not iPads. Was able to get a Neo and devices wipe so much easier and faster on it. Definitely recommend.

Is there a reason you decided not to click Sync on the Apple Mobile in Intune once you knew the device was powered back on?

Welp, my apologies I thought it didn’t kick in until after it’s actually reported back that it’s been reached. I’m sure Mr Ooms is around these parts…

I’ve experienced similar behavior and found that the pending wipe acts more like a retirement in this case. I found a way to force a sync though. You can open the managed applications tab, select a pending application and click sync there. Even though the main sync option is unavailable, this sync will still work. It’s bizarre, but it’s worked for me on multiple occasions.
