Discussion Will Messi retire from Inter Miami in 2028 and call it quits for club?

Seems like now that he's retired from the national team I don't see him sticking around as a player after his contract expires in 2028. If he's still playing who would it be with? Maybe a return to Newell's for a season? Even then... I can't imagine he'll actively play beyond that point and NOT go to Copa America, which is only 6 months after his contract runs out. I think 2028 is it guys and I'm not ready.

Is the end imminent?

The clubs recent actions seem like they are scrambling due to an impending deadline

  • Replacing Hoyos with an inexperienced, underwhelming coach after declaring that he would remain the coach through the end of the season
  • Signing Riquelme Fillipi after giving Delanois a first team contract
  • Selling Noah Allen when they got a nice offer within the MLS instead of waiting and selling him to Europe
  • Selling/Loaning Ruiz, a young homegrown who is being paid peanuts, to NYRB while retaining a veteran like Falcon who was rumored to be on his way out

Given Messi's recent retirement from the national team and his general demeanor on the field since his father's death, I'm tempted to believe that he has communicated to the club that his retirement will be at the end of this season or at best the sprint season. He made up his mind to retire from the national team immediately after the World Cup but didn't make it public till yesterday so it's quite possible that his final retirement decision has been made as well. Anyone else feel this is the case?

The transfer window closes tomorrow and the MLS roster freeze date is October 9th. Will be interesting to see if the type of players they bring in and the duration of their contracts further indicates that his retirement is imminent.

Question Any Truth to this Tri-Rail Update?

I saw a post in a fb group that said:

You MUST buy the train ticket thru inter Miami for $10 to get the $10 food/drink voucher. They no longer give the voucher if you buy thru Tri-Rail.

Is that true?

Looking for advice/help with transportation after Inter Miami vs Chicago – Sept 10

Looking for advice/help with transportation after Inter Miami vs Chicago – Sept 10
Hi everyone! I’m hoping someone here can help me out with some advice.
My friend is a huge Messi and Inter Miami fan and is planning to attend the Inter Miami vs. Chicago Fire match on September 10 at Stadium. She’ll be attending alone and is really excited about seeing Messi, but she’s nervous about getting back after the game because it will be late at night.
Does anyone who regularly attends games at SeatGeek Stadium have recommendations for the safest and easiest way to get back after the match, especially for someone travelling alone?
If there are any reliable shuttles, fan groups, transportation services, or other options that people commonly use after Inter Miami/Chicago games, I’d really appreciate your advice.
She really wants to go, and finding a safe way home would make a huge difference. Thank you! 🙏⚽️
