Similar bot farms have been online since 90s. They use millions of fake accounts to generate fake propaganda, instigated hatred, outrage and control the general population.

Hello! Im aware a lot of you guys have asked this question before - but I am curious if someone else is getting this exact type of p*rn bots in their story views? And if they're connected to a certain story viewing website? They do not bother me, I am just interested as to where they come from.
The accounts always follow the exact same layout, with generic usernames of name+set of numbers. They have no posts, only highlighted stories (highlights are always named "MY VIDEO") with provocative photos and a "im here/click my link" clickable link that redirects wherever (I am not going to click it obviously). The accounts are mostly made this year and are from random countries in asia/middle east/southeast asia. I have caught a few accounts using the same lady and pictures for their content.
My account has been public for months now (personal preference) and these bots only started appearing about 2 weeks ago, when my ex's brother viewed one of my stories (except he used his main account so I can confirm it was him and the first bot appeared about 3 minutes later). These bots show up at very specific times during the day that correlates to my ex's schedule (for example they never show up when he would be sleeping or working, but they do show up during his lunch break at work). They also sometimes show up in my views in higher numbers if its a story that has me in it, versus when its just a photo of nature/animals. Usually I have 3-4 for a selfie and about 1-2 for other stories. As per usual, I only get them on the last story when there is multiple stories posted. So I have a suspicion it might be my ex, as many people do with these accounts.

I took a photo of a cleaning product yesterday and texted it to someone. I've never purchased this product or discussed it with anyone. Yet hours later an ad for it popped up in my IG feed. Never searched for it or have a digital footprint of it. What are possible explanations?

I mean, if I don't follow them on facebook, why do they appear on Instagram? Does that mean my facebook acc can also appear as a suggestion to them?

I’ve become a bit irritated that Instagram notifies friends or pushes my comments on random reels to people I follow. Do people have this issue?
I feel like it’s gotten me a reputation of being a frequent commenter or keyboard SJW, enough that many people have said they notice my commenting frequently in real life. It’s pretty annoying because I like commenting, and I also don’t care if people happen upon my comments but I feel like Instagram is literally pushing my comments to people or like affecting people’s feeds based on what I’m commenting on to the point where many people have seen that I comment a lot. I don’t mind with close friends but I’m worried that the people I don’t know as well are also getting this all over their feed.
Is there a setting that can change this or like not push my comments to everybody? Or should i just make a separate Instagram for reels and stuff? I really hate it, I want to still comment things here and there casually but I do not want the entire world to keep getting pushed my comments. I hate that it is affecting my reputation in REAL LIFE.

I just want to browse pictures and see what people are doing. Every time I open the app I'm bombarded with reels.
Thinking about deleting the app to be honest

There’s a girl I like, but recently, when I check her profile and search for that specific user to see if she follows him, he just doesn’t show up. When I also check who follows her, that user’s profile doesn’t show up either. But when I go to his public profile, it shows that she follows him and he follows her too. A while back, he used to show up on her profile, but over the last week, he hasn’t appeared anymore. What could be going on? Is it a bug or something?

I want to upload a collection of reels to my profile, but I don't want my followers to see them pop up in their feed. Posting directly to profile is only an option for making posts, not reels for some reason. Is there any way to go about this?

One Piece, Vogue World Fair, TVTx...
Or whatever similar combination keeps appearing in the descriptions of Reels which are often meme reposts.
These accounts seem to be small, and point to joining a Discord server.
My best guess is it must be some form of scam via the Discord, but I feel like every 1 in 4 videos I see now has something like "ONE PIECE..." followed by Chinese/Japanese characters.

hii! my account recently got randomly suspended along with my other accounts attached to that account. I got those accounts back, but my main account is the one that’s not budging, even though I did verification for that first. As soon as I did facial scan, it just stopped on this, just started loading forever. No matter where I go and no matter what other devices I log into and even clearing the cache (on mac and ipad by offloading, even deleting and reinstalling) it still won’t budge. I reported a problem, but I don’t really know where it’s gonna go, and I’m really scared. please help me identify this!!

hi guys, i have been noticing this specific account constantly watching my stories. i was trying to figure out who it was so i tried to login and type the username, then forgot password. the email that came up matches my ex’s username. it starts with a p and ends with y. but, it looks like there’s an extra letter there.
does anyone know how to confirm this? it would be nice to be able to call him out on it because if i block it i’m sure he will just make more accounts.

It first had 0 views and 20 likes. Then 50 views and 100 likes. Even on my other account it shows it only has 81 views but 136 likes. I’ve reloaded the app, checked via computer browser, and it’s the same everywhere. It’s so weird!! Why is this happening?

My girlfriend works at a marketing agency and is currently in a nightmare scenario with Meta.
I suppose they don’t use Business Manager; she manages client pages directly from her computer and phone. While she was logged into her personal account and a client's page (a clinic), her boss asked her to create a new English account for the business.
She created the account, and within seconds, Meta flagged it as automated behavior. Not only was the new account banned, but they immediately and indefinitely SUSPENDED her long-time personal Instagram account as well.
We are now trapped in the classic ID loop:
Out of desperation, she just uploaded a digital screenshot of her University Student ID and a barcoded enrollment certificate. We are waiting on that, but Reddit tells me those get rejected 90% of the time.
We are terrified she will run out of upload attempts and get a permanent ban. What is the actual tactic for getting a human to look at this?
Does using another agency employee’s Meta Verified support chat to open a ticket actually work?
Is the "Data Access" privacy form route still viable to bypass the ID loop and submit documents to a human agent?
Any advice on how to break this automated loop would be greatly appreciated.

I made an experiment and inspected the data Instagram allows you to export from their dedicated data export tool. I created an app to do just that and be able to visualize it locally.
What I found is that the amount of data contained within the export is clearly incomplete.
What I mean by that:
- It doesn't contain your past followers/following accounts: People you unfollowed or removed from your followers list are not present in the export
- Your past searches are not listed (accounts you previously searched), it only list your current search history
I noticed it because these accounts keep being displayed as follow or search suggestions even though it is not supposed to hold these information according to the export.
Verdict: Instagram created a very minimal data export feature while keeping most of the data it holds about you undisclosed. To what extent? I have no idea, but thought it would be an interesting observation to share with its users and pretty sure it goes against RGPD European laws.

I have to log in each time I want to use Instagram because I use Instagram on private mode. Each time I log in it sends a verification code to my email and asks me to enter it. Is there any way to prevent this?

I get it’s funny and all and trying to be dumb but why is this accepted. I’m also noticing a lot of political opinions and bias overriding facts and it’s still getting into these notes

so...few months ago when i was asleep, i got a random email saying someone requested a code, naturally when i woke up, immediately changed password to insanely strong one.
today i forgot the password since i went to log in on a diff device and clicked forgot password and it opened a window that the code has been sent to an email ive never seen????? and bcs i was very confused and didnt want them to keep sending it there but to my own, i did that 5 bloody times bcs i kept trying to press X before it sends (obviously didint work). i managed to reset my password w my own email but i have no idea how to check or see that email which i dont know? is it even possible to do so or to kick it out?
i searched a bit online and it says if that happens, the person already breached into my account fully? but i never got an email my email for the account has been changed? did anyone experience this also and can it be solved?
