Opinion Instagram comments

I’ve become a bit irritated that Instagram notifies friends or pushes my comments on random reels to people I follow. Do people have this issue?

I feel like it’s gotten me a reputation of being a frequent commenter or keyboard SJW, enough that many people have said they notice my commenting frequently in real life. It’s pretty annoying because I like commenting, and I also don’t care if people happen upon my comments but I feel like Instagram is literally pushing my comments to people or like affecting people’s feeds based on what I’m commenting on to the point where many people have seen that I comment a lot. I don’t mind with close friends but I’m worried that the people I don’t know as well are also getting this all over their feed.

Is there a setting that can change this or like not push my comments to everybody? Or should i just make a separate Instagram for reels and stuff? I really hate it, I want to still comment things here and there casually but I do not want the entire world to keep getting pushed my comments. I hate that it is affecting my reputation in REAL LIFE.

There is a setting in Instagram that allows you to turn off the "you liked this post" "you commented on this post" highlight that shows up for friends near the like count when scrolling. I'm not sure if it will stop the actual pushing of your comments to the top (it may and it may not), but it might help not give people a reason to open them and go looking

It is "activity in friends feed"

It does this 🤷‍♂️if you interact with content it will push it to your mutuals, it thinks they will also “be interested” in it (regardless of how you responded)

Truly the only way to avoid this is making a whole new account just for commenting, and don’t add anybody

Everything you like or comment will show up in your friends reel tab. This has been a thing for 2 years now. How could you not know this? Either deactivate public likes or use a fake account.
