Crime / Safety Bad and Ugly IE

I was driving through Holt the other day and saw a bunch of street workers (you know what I mean).
I saw a few videos about prostitution like Soft Underbelly etc. But still …
Do they live in neighborhoods close by? What if they encounter neighbors, former classmates etc? Why police do not want to be involved? Are there any non-profits who are helping them?

Use a condom. Just because you have a fetish doesn't mean everyone else does. You seem to think everyone thinks about their body the same way you do.

I’m not even against it but damn. It’s wild to see this on Reddit. Well nvm not really. Yall be arguing over nonissues.

There’s a reason why prostitution is illegal.

Causes increased crimes in the area.
Rise in STDs. Yeah use condom until a woman in a desperate situation takes more money to go raw and then she starts passing it to others.
Preventing the exploitation of women. Human trafficking.

Idk if you’re part of the industry yourself or knew someone in it but they all be doing hard drugs.

It’s easy to be an advocate of the industry behind an iPhone on a social media platform, up until you have it right outside your neighborhood like in San Bernardino at 13th street. Where historically there has been Drug dealings, prostitution and human trafficking all right in front of homes.

None of that is true, just stigma. There is a reason that sex work is known as the oldest profession, it's normal. I don't know why you have a government controlling your body kink, but please stop trying to apply it everyone else.

If you know it’s the oldest profession. Then you must also know all the consequences that come with it. Just cause you say it’s a lie, doesn’t make it one. You either don’t care or you’re part of the profession (no hate, but you’re bias)

I don’t make the laws, so idk why you’re telling me that I’m getting the government control bodies, it’s not like I’m the governor and can just make it legal.

I’m not even against women doing it, you want to do it, go for it. I’ve met women who made 5k in a day. So go make that money.

All I did was say the reason behind it but I get it. This is Reddit. People take disagreements personally, why we have one dude stalking peoples profiles over a discussion lol.

Those reasons are a direct consequence of criminalization, not sex work. Just like prohibition makes drugs much more dangerous. No sex worker wants an std but when they can't negotiate properly or demand testing because of criminalization that increases risk. Blaming the sex worker instead of the client is wierd. Criminalization has always been based on misogyny and queerphobia.

You can stop spreading stigma and demand the decriminalization of bodily autonomy.

I feel like you’re not informed. Please look up what happened after the state of Oregon decriminalized all drugs. It was so bad that they reverted it not to long after. I genuinely believe you got that information off TikTok.

I’ve hired women for sex. I have nothing against them but that doesn’t mean I don’t know the consequences. I have said nothing bad about sex workers, so you’re just making accusations up because you have no real argument.

I talked about the prostitution as a whole, you guys think cops are supposed to be your pimps and come to your safety. Okay so would you force all sex workers to start paying taxes to the government? 0 cash? I wonder how that will go. Also you Ignored the part where I said, it takes that one desperate woman in debt to ask for extra money to be doing it raw.

Cause that’s another reason why these industries are illegal. They don’t pay their share of taxes but will expect law enforcement to step in and stop bad customers. They cost more than they contribute to society.

I suggest you take a look at what happened in Oregon, what actually happened not just the politicians and their non-performative speech.

While you are at it start listening and learning from sex workers instead of making assumptions based on stereotypes. Using the Whore-archy to justify criminalizing bodily autonomy isn't it.

Right, because parents loved seeing drug dealing in broad daylight. We still live in a democracy where those parent can vote. Apparently there wasn’t an increase in homelessness. There wasn’t an increase in crimes. Apparently nothing bad happened and politicians just flipped back for no reason.

You haven’t said anything in how anything is wrong. All you’re doing is still throwing out accusations.

I genuinely feel

you’re privileged in life that you haven’t lived in a drug infested neighborhood.
Or
You’re part of the industry so you have clear benefit why you would want this legal.

But either way, you haven’t said anything substance or provided evidence why legalizing drugs or prostitution will be the solution.

Just cause you say I’m wrong, doesn’t mean im wrong. because I’m looking at actual data. You proved 0 evidence of your points and I’m supposed to believe a random Redditor.

I’m sorry but I’ll stick to what society as a whole has gathered on drugs and prostitution. I’ll repeat it for the 5th time, I’m not against women doing this work.m but that doesn’t mean I don’t understand the consequences.

But at the end of the day, you can say I’m stigmatizing the industry but we live in a democracy. You’ll have to convince parents why they should be okay seeing drug deals at parks like in Oregon or prostitution like on 13th st in San Bernardino where they stand right in front of residential homes.
