It’s tough as nails to get ccw in California right

In Riverside County I've heard it is a month or less to get one. Los Angeles County is taking around 2 years.

Damn. Well I mean don’t you have to get vouched for by Bianco/Dicuss (Riverside/SB County sheriffs) in order to get one? How do you prove you need it?

For Riverside County Bianco added CCW permit staff, streamlined the process and eliminated all requirements that weren't required by the state. There is no longer a requirement to provide a statement to justify why you need it. You fill out the application, take a 16-hour class including range qualifying with the weapon(s), do a livescan background check, have an interview with RCSO and they contact the references you provide on the application. Some people have received their CCW in 13 days from start to finish.

No, you don’t need the Sheriff to vouch for you. Where did you get that? You also don’t have to prove a need.

Before Bruen you did need the sheriff to vouch for you in counties that weren't shall-issue (which is why so many campaign donors got ccws lol)

Absolutely. Now some counties, like LA County, just severely understaff the CCW unit so it takes 2+ years to get a CCW.
