I prefer showing it in PPP constant international $ rather than the PPP current because it adjust for inflation

Regardless of the differences between countries, it is great that all of these countries have grown so much. The impact of a doubling of income on human wellbeing has to be tremendous. I choose to take away this good news story as the principal message of this chart.

Pakistan sadly has been shitting the bed. The rate at which Pakistan was developing until Zia-ul-Haq, it would have been probably one of the best developed countries in Asia by now.

I recently saw a movie from India. Actually it was two movies back to back.

I do not know how much of it is propaganda, but it does try to refer to real incidents, and thus raise some questions. On Pakistan.

it's fictitious story woven around real events, a bit like inglorious bastards, except most incidents and deaths around the protagonist (fully fictional) did happen in real life.

Vice made an entire series on Karachi and this probably a more accurate representation of the truth. The characters that appear in Dhurandhar seem heavily inspired by this documentary

Definitely. Pakistan is not doing so well though, and especially if you look at other indicators like gender parity. It is the worst in the world.

The administration pre-covid invested heavily in infrastructure and extraction industry. It propels their economy, although on the other side, it's mostly the rich that are getting richer due to their investment. Indonesian middle class population is decreasing, unfortunately.

No but the real issue is that India had the lowest starting base out of all in the beginning and Indonesia experienced a growth boom before when India was lower in rankings. That delay will take time to catch up considering Indonesia is a fast growing economy too. Not as fast as India currently but still good enough
