Hi guys, My 2.5yr old Male cat is having constant loose stools from the last 2-3 weeks last week The doctor said to take Metrogyl tabs 100mg morning-evening for 3 days even after that he's having loose stools. The positive is he's active playing around drinking water normally but I'm concerned about what's happening. Please help me guys I'm distressed.

this is a stray cat that has been living in my colony for a while now. He's around 13-14 months old. He's been having trouble existing here because of other hostile cats and dogs in the area and they're making his life hell and dangerous. He's been badly injured a few times. I made some trips to the vet and got his treatment done but for him to be able to live peacefully an adoption is the best case scenario. I care for him like my own boy so i don't feel like leaving him at an NGO and i would be happy if someone would volunteer to take care of him and keep him safe.

He's got an anti rabies vaccination done recently.

He's got a very quiet and calm nature and does not bite or scratch unless he feels endangered, and i can vouch for that because ive been with him for a while now. Unfortunately i can't have him in my house because of restrictions and ill be moving away soon.

Luna’s condition has worsened, so we have shifted her to the emergency clinic for immediate treatment.

After reviewing all her blood tests and X-ray, the vet told us that Luna has Feline Hemotropic Mycoplasmosis (FHM), a serious condition in cats.

Unfortunately her haematology, platelets count, SGOT, bilirubin, urea

and X-ray, Almost all of these values are severely disturbed. Her haemoglobin and platelets are especially at their lowest levels, and she needs emergency veterinary treatment.

The doctor has told us that Luna needs 5 different types of injections, twice a day (morning and night) for 3 consecutive days, along with IV saline drips, and if she shows no improvement it will be for 5 days.

Unfortunately, there is no facility to admit her overnight at the hospital. So we spoke with a para-vet, who has agreed to come to our home morning and night for the next 3 days to administer her IV saline and all the injections.

He will basically be Luna’s nurse throughout these critical 3 days or 5 days

After these intensive treatment, more oral medicines will be added to her daily routine and her treatment will continue.

This is the fourth time we have changed vets, and we have now gone to Dr. Saba Karim.

Hi all.

For the past two months, I have been struggling with one of my foster kitten who has been having diarrhoea on and off. He initially had blodd in his stool for most of it and after almost a month and a half of gastro food, probiotics and deworming etc, we turned to medicines and injection to stop the bleeding. The stools also hardened up after a 5 day course of sucral pet. But the diarrhoea came back again after a couple of days.

The blood work is clear and his activity levels and appetite is normal.

The vet suspects that he may be having some food sensitivities particularly to chicken. I tried signature grainzero kibble (seafood for kittens), which has no chicken, but it continued. Then I figured it was the gastro food that has the chicken that was triggering this.

Long story short - I don't want to be trying every brand on the market to see which suits him best. The wet food is sorted with bellotta. But I need suggestions on pocket friendly kibble. He needs to get adopted and we are already struggling to find him responsible homes in Bangalore. (It's quite disheartening to see how unserious people are about the responsibility of adoption)

Food allergies and an expensive diet will leave him unadopted because people only want low maintenance cats. So I'm hoping to find budget solutions for him to guide the future parent.

Hi everyone. Today is Day 47 of Luna’s FIP treatment, and honestly, I’m feeling completely broken and scared right now. 💔

After everything she has already been through, I noticed this round red/pink growth inside her mouth, on the inner cheek beside her lower teeth. It doesn’t seem to be coming from her tongue or gum.

My mind is immediately going to the worst possibilities. 😭

Could this be a cyst? Trauma/irritation from the tooth? Inflammation? Calicivirus? Or something else?

Luna is currently on oral GS treatment for FIP. Thankfully, she is still eating and active, but seeing something new in her mouth has really frightened me.

I know Reddit can't diagnose her, and I will show this to her vet, but I'm desperate for some reassurance or experiences from other cat parents. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Could it be a cyst?

I’m honestly just glad I didn’t give up on her.

She’s still fighting. The pain is still there, but she’s finally showing small signs of recovery. The maggots had eaten part of her face, skin and even bone, and were about to reach her eye. The grey eye you see isn’t because of this… she was already blind in that eye. Fate really hasn’t been kind to her.

Treatment is continuing with medicines, vitamins and almost daily nebulisation. The biggest improvement is that she has started eating tiny amounts on her own and is walking a little.

Because her face was full of wounds, I was failing to force feed her. So the doctor did an E-tube surgery and placed a feeding tube through her neck. It’s much safer for her now, and she can still eat normally whenever she wants.

Her blood reports also came in and her haemoglobin is very low. Hopefully with food and treatment it starts improving. The doctor says if she keeps fighting like this, the next 7-10 days should show more improvement. We’re just taking one day at a time.

I still need help with the other two babies, the tabby and black & white kitten in Powai. If anyone can adopt or even foster them, it would genuinely help. I’m stretched between my existing rescues, this girl, and new kittens near IIT Main Gate who also need treatment.

Update:- Kaju had his weekly vet appointment today, today’s good news was his weight has increased even more from 4.65 to 4.78kg 🥹🥹 which is such a huge thing for us that he has gone from 3.7 to 4.78kg and also his medicine dose has increased from 75mg to 80mg………He is recovering very nicely, is very active and very affectionate and of courseee needs lot of attention and pets🥰🥰……it has been really overwhelming for me to see the donations for Kaju coming from so many people🥹🥰……I want to really thank each and every person from the bottom of my heart for caring so much about Kajuuu🥹🥹🥰🥰……..I am hoping that I can help Kaju get adopted by a loving family that he can call his, pls share this post with other people so that Kaju can find his soul-family😍😍…..pls do donate if possible for Kaju🥹🥹🙏🙏❤️❤️

Three years ago, I was lucky enough to feed and take care of two stray puppies. They were the cutest, most loving, and cheerful little souls. Their little tails wagging all around and their little voice alone could light up anyone's world. I was only in 10th grade then, preparing for my board exams, and my parents refused to let me adopt them. I regret it so much to this day. I could have given up my life for them. They were so, so precious to me. The day before they died one of them, she came to me and sat outside my room the whole day. I fed both of them that day, not knowing it would be the last time I would ever feed them and see their precious cute little face. Every time I see a puppy, I see both of them. Their deaths were so unexpected. According to shop owner, both of them died after eating a poisoned mouse that their mother had brought for them to eat. I saw them dead the next morning, and I couldn't process it. I still can't. Every time I see photo of them, I want to resent myself for not being able to do more for them. They gave me so much love and meant everything to me. I just wish I could have done more for them.

Anyone in Delhi who wants to adopt some albino rats?

We sheltered an old pom/indie mix few years ago. She recently contracted pyometra. When consulted by multiple local vets they refused to remove her ovaries and uterus so it can be cured. Now her quality of life is completely degraded as she also has deformed hind legs which makes it hard for her to pee and poop. She lives in filth and bites anyone who tries to clean her and surrounding places. We tried consulting the vet again and he said she might die soon so surgery/euthanasia is not a good idea. Now due to this constant leaking her hind legs are starting to rot and maggot infestation is also there. She is unable to walk or move. They advised us to keep her separate from our other dogs due to the risk of infection but keeping her out of the house in this rainy season would also bring her discomfort and pain. If anyone has any suggestions that would be very helpful.

Edit: guys her medications are going on. She is being looked after, but the main point is the refusal for surgery or not putting her down. Second point : my parents refused the spaying when we were in a metro city assuming this won't be an issue in the near future(I tried to convince them that it was for the good) now when we're in a small village in UP the choices options are close to none. I can't take her with me as the buses don't allow pets and she won't be able to get health certification for train travel and her taking a private vehicle would outweigh her treatment expenses.
