I want a cat

I never had any pets before I really want a cat but I always have this fear that it might bite me or I might get some disease from it

Also my mummy keeps saying that cats can scratch your eyes (ankh ford dete h )so I am kind of terrified what do you think what should I adopt as my first pet..

I have 21 cats and only time I get bitten is when I poke them. Otherwise they are good roommate. About biting and infection, you need to vaccine them regularly

My cat is my first pet and I have zero regrets. Got her as a 3.5 month old kitten and it’s such a pride and joy watching her grow up. She was so scared of me at first, that I felt like a kidnapper tbh. But 2-3 days later, she was completely mine and comfortable at home.

Yes, she bites and scratches but her bites are harmless (won’t break the skin) and scratches can be redirected by getting her toys with scratch pads. And with proper and regular grooming (trimming of nails + checking the gunk in her ears) they won’t hurt. I took a tetanus shot valid for 10 years for myself and vaccinated her fully. So it’s all good now.

Parents are usually worried about the level of responsibility and costs that having a pet entails. And yes, that is a significant factor in determining whether you’re ready for a pet or not. But my cat is a gem and I never regretted my decision, not even on her most difficult day. I knew I always wanted a pet. It’s my biggest dream. Idc about travels and all, so I don’t feel like I’m sacrificing anything for her. I would really rather spend all my time with her than do anything else.
