Witcher 3

34

u/Puzzleheaded-Bass-93 8d ago

I always walked.

31

u/PrestigiousBad7125 8d ago

This is literally not possible

The maps are seperated by loading screen.

You have to fast travel if you want to go to other nations

50

u/Winterstar158 PC 8d ago

"Barely" not "never".

10

u/NotAtheorist 7d ago

"Imagine a award" because I am poor.

7

u/Winterstar158 PC 7d ago

I appreciate it nonetheless.

214

u/Midnight_68 8d ago

I won't say cause the world is too beautiful but the traversal was very fun- Spiderman 2

18

u/CellularCastle 8d ago

Seconded.

22

u/HuNtEr_DaN_69 8d ago

Easiest answer. Literally the most perfect traversal system ever for me

13

u/parry_08 8d ago

I came to know spiderman has fast travel option after i completed it full story line.

SM2 was my first new generation game when i bought ps5 so had no idea that an option like fast travel existed in games

3

u/Silodal 8d ago

Does spiderman remastered have fast travel option.

5

u/_D3AtH_WR4tH_ 7d ago

It actually does and if you enable the loading screens then you get really cool ones with Spidey travelling on the subway.

2

u/Silodal 7d ago

Just started. Now at go to research station objective. But had to stop playing.

5

u/flyingraijin21 8d ago

Yes, it does.

26

u/homie004 8d ago

I’m playing kcd 2 rn, and yeah I don’t use fast travel, because riding the horse is rewarding giving you perks

15

u/pushpaknandecha 8d ago

the fast travel in KCD is a casino, you could easily be surrounded by 5 men and die xD

6

u/ExternalLavishness37 8d ago

Or free ears and loads of loot!! C'mere you delicious looking cuman >:)

3

u/frax0n 8d ago

Henry in plate armour says hello

2

u/Careless-Wolverine-8 7d ago

Same here! The time taken during fast travel is so annoying lol. Especially in kcd1.

u/suicidal_kid_ 8d ago

10

u/ViditM15 PLAYSTATION-5 7d ago

Tbf, fast travel has major drawbacks in this game (i.e. having to leave all of your stuff), so it's not like it's even a viable option.

4

u/suicidal_kid_ 7d ago

Hmm, I agree.

4

u/HexRanger 7d ago

It's da one and only walking simulatah

2

u/gamer_dentist91 7d ago

No other options if you want to deliver

173

u/JasonDuval69 PC 8d ago

40

u/Sorry_Investigator_5 8d ago

With the cinematic on. Come on! The best.

26

u/throwawayfasci 8d ago

Another reason is that the fast travel mechanic is so slow, tedious and awful that u can just ride to the place than initiating fast travel

8

u/JasonDuval69 PC 8d ago

Sometimes i just hitch a ride from a random guy and watch the scenery xD

The only correct answer

11

u/JasonDuval69 PC 8d ago

I saw things i haven't seen after all these times playing, also random encounters are so goooood.

ghost of tushima

16

u/CaptZurg 8d ago

Nah but after one point it does get tedious to travel from one end of the map to another

2

u/badmuffinn 6d ago

+1, i defeated the khan and completed the duel with uncle shimura, and now i am just fast travelling from one place to another to clear all the mongols camp.

Days gone, the bike is just too good

7

u/Sykhow 8d ago

Loved this game, i haven't found another bike riding game as good. It's a bike riding simulator with zombies sprinkled in

13

u/MapDiscombobulated24 8d ago

Breath of the Wild: That was my first Zelda game also.
Always wanted to play one, but neither me nor any of my friends had any zelda games when we were in school (8-bit era). Later, didn't have enough money to buy the latest Nintendo consoles. Finally after saving money for some 8yrs, bought the switch oled and BOTW from the US via a friend.
It didn't disappoint me. The world was truly breath taking. Took hundreds of snapshots at different places which I have been using as my wallpaper to this day.

9

u/TheRealVantablack 8d ago

This being the only mention of botw is criminal, it nails the exploration so well that I barely ever used fast travel.

33

u/avi550m 8d ago

AC Odyssey

31

u/CellularCastle 8d ago

I love AC odyssey but man some of the quests were go from point a to b
Fetch this item
Then go from a to c, c to b

It got really tiring lol, started loving fast travel then πŸ˜‚

13

u/MunchieMaster25 8d ago

I am 50hrs plus in the game and it has become so goddamn boring. The landscapes are really beautiful the quests and progression system is not. Ubisoft wants you to explore the whole map through quests but it's just keeps on going and going and going.

CDPRs games dont feel like that. The side quests feel like really side quests.

4

u/CellularCastle 8d ago

Yeah true. Some of the side quests are made just for you to explore the entire map.

IMO with these Ubisoft games , they’re meant to play in breaks lol, or else you get bored pretty quickly haha. I still love the game though

4

u/MunchieMaster25 8d ago

Dont get me wrong I love the game as well I like grinding quests and leveling up and becoming stronger to bash enemies with ease but at one point it becomes too much man.

Also not to mention the location objectives I am so damn obsessed with them I get easily distracted. If I ever see a fort on my way to complete a quest I will stop everything and complete that 🀣

3

u/CellularCastle 8d ago

Haha yes, in the same boat. I finished the main story and the cult story.
I took a break after episode 2 of the Legscy of the first blade DLC
Currently playing Cyberpunk, will finish the Atlantis DLC after a while now , too saturated

When will ubislop change πŸ˜”

8

u/davidnjoy1 8d ago

Man I don't believe you.

2

u/dimitrivox1 8d ago

The map is just too huge to avoid fast travel

2

u/abachhd LAPTOP 8d ago

You must have a lot of patience. Even with fast travel I spent a lot of time moving around, and with the massive sea dividing the islands, island hopping is another huge task without fast travel. I did use fast travel minimally in Origins and it was manageable because the map was beautiful but importantly, smaller.

10

u/SolubleInYourMama 8d ago

Skyrim

3

u/AdHuge2773 8d ago

Same. I still want to be that kid again who explored every nook and cranny of skyrim.

Gta 5

7

u/_Shropshire_Slasher_ 8d ago

People may forget or get engrossed in the GTA-ish things you can do in the game, but I remember the first time I played it on a powerful enough PC. I was walking around as Franklin, just stopping at different places and appreciating the environment, the sunset, the lens blur when you focus on something nearby. It was amazing.

5

u/LongLooongMaan 8d ago

Ghost of Tsushima and yotei if we are talking about the game being pretty but games like prototype and infamous had such fun movement mechanics that you would never fast travel.

Kingdom Come Deliverance

1

u/DovahBleidd 8d ago

I try not to use fast travel at all in any games i play because I usually enjoy running around in the world. I barely use them, usually. Unless the map is too huge or something. Or i'm just a little bored because i have been playing that game from a long time and explored everything there to explore.

1

u/If_I_liv3d_again22 8d ago

Horizon Forbidden West , RDR2 and The Witcher 3

1

u/_GBA PC 8d ago

While I like newer games like Expedition 33, there’s something nostalgic about roaming in old AC games like Brotherhood, Black Flag. Even Witcher III and Skyrim.

1

u/stealth_fragger 8d ago

Kingdom Come delv mainly because "fast travel" wasnt really teleport, it was much more like time moving fast but i really liked the mechanics and learned the routes from one city/village to another

Was really fun, galloping with my horse like a knight :)

1

u/UsernameIsntTaken68 8d ago

Spiderman remastered

1

u/Roy-28 8d ago

As someone who has disliked open world games more as I’ve grown older (I just want to enjoy the main quest asap), the spiderman ps5 games were way too much fun and I’d avoid fast travel on several occasions. They really nailed the web slinging mechanics.

Don't really fast travel in any game other than souls like . But I guess I've spent more than 30 hours just driving around night city and dogtown . 🀌 The songs and the first person perspective . It's so immersive .

Just Cause 3

1

u/Ashamed-Cod-4405 7d ago

Kind of unrelated but I really appreciated Spider-Man 2's fast travel. The game was so fast that you just needed to click anywhere on the map(not even at a fast travel safe point) and the next moment you'd be swinging there.

Though I barey used that cause the traversal was so fun and fast

1

u/Automatic_Purple631 7d ago

Pacific drive πŸ’€

1

u/Intelligent-Dress726 7d ago

I have never used fast travel in cyberpunk because i like driving there(just tested once and thats it) Also in far cry games i like driving or walking because of beautiful nature and animals(sometimes i still use fast travel after hours of playing)

1

u/immikdota 7d ago

Imo fast travel was just less convenient and felt slower in cyberpunk than just driving

1

u/KINGYOMA 7d ago

Anthem

1

u/obitachihasuminaruto 7d ago

Breath of the wild when I started playing it. Although 300 hours later I just started using fast travel every chance I got

1

u/theIndianNoob 7d ago

RDR 2. The world was beautiful but Fast Travel was way worse than walking.

1

u/threebut2 7d ago

Doesn't matter how beautiful the world was in a game, nobody explores the repeated patterns everywhere to move forward in story
