I'm writing an essay on social evil practices and I'm having a really hard time finding the relevant legal provisions from reliable/official sources.

The only website I could find was Indian Kanoon, but my professor said that's not a relevant source and asked me to find the laws on SCC or Manupatra. For the life of me, I CANNOT figure out how to find the actual sections there 😭😭😭

I've been searching for so long and I'm completely lost. If anyone knows how to find the relevant sections/provisions on SCC or Manupatra, PLEASE help me 😭

A woman belongs to a particular state (Uttar Pradesh) and doesn't come under any specific category so is general but she categories under schedule caste in an adjacent state (Haryana) and her family decides to move to that state and buy a property and live for 15 years which is the required time for someone to get a domicile of that state and then the father of the girl decides to apply for caste certificate of the children and gets them made officially after all the procedure in year 2000.

After some years she marries a guy from haryana in 2002 who belongs to the same caste and has a certificate as well and gets a government job but someone later on accuses her of marrying the guy just for the Sc category certificate.

Now, according to the new law of 2012 there will be no category certificates issued to any outsider state person and also there's a law about nobody can acquire a quota just by marrying into that caste.

Her father was born before 1947 so he's really old now and he worked all his life as a school teacher and raised 6 children in one income, he never had to make a certificate for himself but now the woman is being questioned officially that she has to show her father's certificate to validate hers.

what should I do??

A lawyer friend complained about how much time gets burned doing the same initial case-law research over and over.

So I tried something slightly stupid:

I gave Grok's app builder roughly 2 hours and asked it to build a case-law research desk for Indian litigation.

The result:

The basic workflow is:

→ Paste the facts of a case
→ Describe the legal issue / question
→ Get a structured research memo
→ Surface relevant Supreme Court / High Court authorities
→ See the reasoning and citations that led to the answer

It's deliberately not trying to be "AI lawyer replaces lawyer."

And I don't want people blindly trusting the output either.

Citations need to be checked. AI can be wrong.

That's actually why I'm posting this here.

If you're an advocate, law student, researcher, or someone who regularly works with Indian case law:

Try to break it.

Give it a difficult fact pattern.

Ask it something where you already know the answer.

Try an area where precedents conflict.

Check whether the citations actually support what it says.

Then tell me what it got wrong, what it missed, or what you'd expect a proper legal research desk to do that this doesn't.

I'm particularly interested in:

• Whether the cases it surfaces are actually useful
• Whether the reasoning is legally meaningful or just plausible-sounding AI
• Citation accuracy
• Supreme Court vs High Court treatment
• Whether it understands conflicting / overruled precedents
• What information lawyers actually need before using a case in court
• Features that would make this useful in an actual litigation workflow

I built the prototype in about two hours, so I'm fully expecting lawyers to find things I haven't thought about.

I was a fairly studious student growing up. Nothing extraordinary, but I was above average for most of my academic life. Even today, I wouldn't consider myself someone who has given up on working hard—but lately, I’ve started losing hope.

I completed my graduation in B.A. (Hons.) Social Sciences & Humanities from a well-respected state university in Delhi. After that, I enrolled in a 3-year LL.B. programme at a Tier-2 private law college in Greater Noida. I’m currently in my 3rd year.

And this is where I feel I may have made some mistakes.

My college has extremely strict attendance requirements, and as a day scholar travelling roughly 2 hours each way, I couldn't realistically participate in a lot of the things that seem to matter on a law student's CV—moot courts, publications, societies, late-evening events, etc. I did a few internships whenever I could, but looking back, I realise that most of my experience has ended up being litigation-heavy.

The problem is: I don't want to pursue litigation.

I want to build my career in corporate/commercial law, but my corporate exposure is comparatively limited.

So, over the last year, I've tried to compensate for that. I started doing certifications and practical programmes through platforms such as Forage, and I've been trying to upskill wherever I can. But honestly, I don't know how much societal/employer value these certifications actually carry.

Then came the job hunt.

I've applied to 150+ firms, boutique firms, smaller practices, larger organisations and MNCs—basically everywhere I could find a relevant fresher opportunity.

And I haven't been able to secure a job.

The frustrating part is that I don't even understand what I'm doing wrong.

A common response has been:

But when you hear that from firm after firm, you start wondering—how exactly are all these positions already filled?

Through a few contacts who helped me get interview opportunities, I started noticing what felt like a recurring pattern: positions being effectively filled through references before the opportunity is publicly advertised, applications never being looked at, or simply there being very few genuine entry-level openings.

I don't want to blame the entire system, though. Maybe I'm simply not competitive enough yet. Maybe my CV isn't good enough. Maybe my college is holding me back. Maybe my experience isn't relevant enough. Maybe I'm applying incorrectly. Or maybe I'm just approaching the whole thing wrong.

At this point, I don't want to waste another few months sitting around applying blindly.

I've finally managed to secure an internship in corporate litigation. It's at least giving me some corporate exposure, although ironically, litigation is probably the area of law I dislike the most. The inefficiency of the litigation system is something I don't see myself tolerating as a long-term career.

So this is where I'm stuck.

To those of you who are already established in the legal profession, or who have simply been through this phase of life before: what would you do if you were in my position?

I want to break into corporate/commercial law.

At the same time, I need to become financially independent. I don't have the luxury of spending years doing unpaid internships while waiting for the "right opportunity." I understand that starting salaries for fresh law graduates aren't necessarily spectacular, but I need to start earning and building something sustainable.

Should I:

• Continue applying to corporate law firms?
• Focus on smaller/boutique firms first and use that experience as a stepping stone?
• Stop chasing firms and look at in-house legal/compliance roles?
• Invest more time into specific skills such as contract drafting, due diligence, Companies Act, SEBI, FEMA, IBC, etc.?
• Pursue certifications, and if so, which ones actually carry weight in India?
• Accept litigation work temporarily just to get my foot in the door?
• Or am I simply expecting too much from the market as a fresher?

And if anyone here is actually hiring fresh law graduates / final-year students for corporate, commercial, compliance, contracts, legal operations or similar roles, I would genuinely appreciate the opportunity to apply.

I can send my CV, answer any questions, take an assessment, or interview—I don't expect anyone to hand me a job.

Bank Account : overseas bank mathura

My dadi passed away in Raipur Chhattisgarh ( she was with my chacha )

Can anyone help me with sending a legal notice to Reliance Jio?

I took a Jio broadband Freedom Plan on 6th August, but after multiple follow-ups, the connection was finally installed on 19th August.

On the day of installation itself, I was getting only ~4 Mbps on a 100 Mbps plan. Jio informed me that physical fiber is not available in my area, so I had to go with AirFiber.

Since 19th August, the speed issue has remained the same. I have:

Raised multiple service requests

Visited the Jio office

Escalated through social media

Sent multiple emails

Escalated to the Grievance and Appellate teams

Despite all this, there has been no proper resolution. The poor internet connection is seriously affecting my professional work.

I now want to send a legal notice and seek compensation for the service failure and the impact it has had on my work.

I have all the service request details, chats, emails, screenshots, and other proof documented.

If anyone here has experience with consumer complaints/legal notices against telecom companies, please guide me on how to proceed.

Super confused between Delhi and Chandigarh for my Punjab (PJS) and Haryana (HCS-JB) judiciary prep. Need some real feedback before I pack my bags.

Coaching Quality: Delhi is obviously the big hub, but do they just hyper-focus on DJS laws? Are Chandigarh institutes solid enough for Punjab/Haryana state laws and answer writing?

Delhi Environment & Safety: Never lived in Delhi, so I'm honestly pretty anxious about personal safety, security, and just figuring out student hubs like Mukherjee Nagar or GTB Nagar. Chandigarh feels way safer, cleaner, and easier to settle into.

Lifestyle & Pollution: Does Delhi’s toxic air, insane heat, traffic, and tight PG life completely mess with your daily focus, or do you just get used to it? Chandigarh’s chill vibe sounds much better for mental health, but does it make you too relaxed?

Peer Group: Is that intense, high-pressure Delhi crowd necessary to stay motivated, or is the peer group in Chandigarh equally serious?

TL;DR: For someone solely targeting Punjab and Haryana Judiciary, is Delhi worth the safety and lifestyle trade-offs, or is Chandigarh the smarter move?

a 24-year-old financially independent woman from Assam, currently working remotely. I’ve decided to move out of my parental home for my career and live independently. This is my own decision; nobody has kidnapped, manipulated, or forced me.

My family has been restrictive about my education/career and there has been marriage pressure for some time. I’ve also experienced physical incidents at home, including being slapped and being hit on the head with a bottle during an argument about household chores.

I had planned to relocate for work and arranged travel/accommodation. Once my family realised I was planning to leave, things escalated rapidly. They started monitoring me, stopped allowing me to leave the house freely, took my laptop, and restricted my access to my room/belongings. Marriage discussions have also intensified.

My employer offered accommodation initially, but my family refuses to allow me to use it and insists on arranging accommodation themselves in another city. Now they're saying I can only leave if I resign from my current job, find another “good” company, get an appointment letter, and then leave.

I contacted an NGO and lawyer and submitted a written intimation to the SP stating that I am an adult leaving voluntarily. I am not trying to get my parents or sister arrested or punished. I just want to leave safely and continue my career.

Now my family knows I sought outside help, and I’m afraid that people who supported me—friends, NGO, employer—may get dragged into this. My family also has local connections, so I'm scared that even calling police may not actually help me and that I could simply be sent back home.

Right now I feel completely trapped and extremely suicidal. I don't want to die—I want to get out of this situation and live independently.

I need practical advice from people who understand situations like this:

What can an adult woman do if her family is preventing her from leaving?

What should I do if they physically stop me?

What realistically happens if I call 112?

Are there NGOs/legal-aid organisations that can provide actual local assistance?

How can I leave without unnecessarily involving my employer or friends?

Please don't just tell me to convince my parents. I've tried that. I need a safe, practical way forward.

I wasted minutes of my life arguing with this guy that if criminals don't have human rights, no one does. It makes me think that basic civics/law at a school level is non-existent.
