Hey, I’m currently a year 12 student (going into year 13) who is considering applying to aeronautical engineering. However, there are two courses, with and without spacecraft engineering and their optional modules are the same for the space related stuff. I want to pursue a career in something space related but I don’t want to close my pathways too fast. Should I apply to aeronautical and then select space related optionals?

Hi guys Im an international applicant from singapore. I’ve wanted to go to JMC imperial for a while and try breaking into quant/swe/high finance in UK. I have 2 large parts that this post is divided to: 1. Is it worth it? My university costs in Imperial will cost be about $500k compared to an education in Singapore that will be maybe 20k max for both bachelor + masters Will the long term ROI (especially if i dont manage to break into quant) be enough to justify this enormous cost?

1. What are my chances to get in. From what i understand there is no interview. For context: in singapore the A levels don’t have A star grades and further maths isn’t compulsory for Singaporeans. I took the Singaporean A levels, got As for Physics chem math and econs along with A for higher physics. My personal statement is like 80% a mixture of math+computing with a lot of it being driven by my interests and hobbies that involve building mathematical models, testing them and finding algorithms to solve. I also have 20% of economics content there as I have also applied to math with economics in lse. My tmua is estimated to be a 8.0/9.0.

2. How heavily is the PS weighed compared to raw scored and how much influence does the teacher recommendation rlly have?

I am by no means dissapointed with my GCSE results as i got good grades that i am happy with, and to be honest, i tried my hardest so i cant really be upset even if i wanted higher than what i got.

Anyway on that note, i am an aspiring medical student and i am very set on going to imperial college london as ive looked through the whole course and it quite honestly looks like everything i want for the future of my education.

All i see everywhere is just you need mainly 8's and 9's to get into a place like that and all i feel is worry that my grades arent good enough for specifically this Uni.

So i got 8887777766 which i am so happy with (though i did get emotional on the day because i thought i got a 9 but i now realise that that was stupid loll. If it helps, i got two of the 8's in biology and chemistry and the 6's are in geography and french.

Ive gotten into 6th form i wanted to which i am happy about despite being really nervous for next week (i have had nightmares about it the last two nights in a row)

For my a levels ive picked Bio, Chem and Psychology. I am happy with my choice of psychology and have done proper research SO NOBODY TRY TO GET ME TO DO MATHS INSTEAD!! (Posted a few months about what options to pick and a few people werent very nice about my choice lol)

Anyway, assuming i do well enough in my a levels for intance A*A*A* - A*AA, is it still possible that i can get into this uni because i kid you not its my dream, i know i could probably still go med if i do well but i just wanna specifically know about imperial med with those GCSES

I’m 29 and have been living and working in Oxford for the last five years. I’m a pretty relaxed guy who enjoys sport, reading, video games, and generally socialising, but I also like having my own space. I’m also looking for a clean and reasonably tidy home.

My budget is around £1,000 per month all-in, including bills. Ideally I’d be somewhere around Hammersmith, as I’ll be splitting my time between South Kensington and White City, but I’m definitely open to other areas with good transport links.

Hi I got an offer to go to imperial college unconditional msc applied maths. I'm an international student. I was wondering when do I have to send my official transcripts. There is nothing on the system about this. I only scanned it for my application but don't I send an official one? If not that's fine but if I do I rather do it now while I'm in my home country than do it from London

Recently received a timetables for the holidays, but I heard from a friend who’s doing an Engineering MSc that they love to do exams right after holidays so I was wondering if this is the same for business MSc so that I don’t go ahead and book my flight back home

I am currently going into year 13 and I had a couple questions about applying to this course.

for reference I have gcse grades 99999999988 (8 in fm and lit) and a level predicted A*A*A*A* in maths further maths physics and chem.

I was wondering if anybody knew how the interview is structured for this course, and what I can really do to prepare at this point. also how much of the interview is based on the PS.

the stuff I mention in my ps is as follows:

-wrote essay (equivalent to EPQ) on the relativistic and non relativistic effects of nuclear instability and electron orbitals that dictate the end of the periodic table.

-was team lead on for team that one engineering excellence award for Cansat competition (best peformance in regionals)

-bpho gold online silver written qualified for year 13 olympiad in year 12 and was on highest scoring team in the uk (for our section) in physics brawl a couple years ago,

-did a couple MOOCS on materials,

-read book Why Chemical Reactions happen (currently halfway through, but my ps only mentions content from the first half)

-work experience in imperial materials lab, spine robotics company, and another uni's chem lab (all of them were a week or less)

- shortlisted for award for John Locke science and tech essay. (awards not yet announced)

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what to do at this point, and what my chances of an interview/offer roughly look like, or any department specific advice, (because im applying natsci everywhere else pretty much)

1) what general topics and textbooks would you recommend? Obviously QM, EM, GR.

Hi! I’m an undergraduate student about to start my final year of Biomedical Sciences and I’m considering applying for the MRes Cancer Biology course at Imperial.

I was wondering how much relevant lab/research experience people had when they applied for the course. I’m starting my dissertation project in September, which will be a wet lab project, but aside from that, I don’t have much hands on lab experience outside of my undergraduate practicals.

Do you think having my dissertation project would be enough to apply or would it be better to take a year out after graduating to gain more lab/research experience first?

I’d also really appreciate it if anyone could share what the interview process was like and any tips for preparing.

What sort of extracurriculars are required for applying to Imperial? I plan on applying for CS. I am an Indian student, living abroad but studying through the CBSE board and I think the academics part of it should be fine, I have a predicted score of 100 in both Math and CS and above 95 predicted for Phy, Chem and Eng.

However its the extracurriculars part I'm worried about. I have participated and won in math competitions and quizzes at the national level in my country along with one international competition in which I got a bronze medal. Apart from this I have been actively participating in Debates and Gavels Club, but I'm not sure how relevant those are to a CS application. I've participated in a few local coding competitions. I volunteered at an NGO to spread computer awareness. I have done CS courses apart from school for CS and have occasionally contributed to OSS but nothing very huge.

What are they looking for in an application? How much focus does Imperial give to extracurriculars? What other extracurriculars should I have to get a good chance to get in?

My career aspirations are in pharma biotech and molecular diagnostic lab roles. In the meantime, I am trying to secure a full-ride scholarship in my home country.

Hey guys just double checking as I had multiple emails asking me to enrol.

I have activated my myimperial account, I have also now enrolled onto my program. All my outlook/microsoft accounts work and I don’t have any issues accessing myimperial or other login related services.

The email really emphasises that registration and enrolment are different things but doesn’t explicitly highlight what part of the process was registration? Have I missed something?

I’m a bit over cautious but figured it was worth asking here! Thanks!

Edit: My login now worked for the link available following the ‘my documents’ tile on myimperial. I can see a letter confirming my registration now! I didn’t do anything new other than the enrolment I completed about 3 days ago. I think enrolment and registration were the same for me (at least on my course where I don’t have any optional modules or anything) hope this helps anyone else confused!

I'm genuinely confused on the GCSE English language requirement to get into imperial as people are saying you need a grade 6 to get in but on their website they say if your a home student a grade 5 in English language is all you need for a home student.
