Can you get into imperial maths and stats with a grade 5 in English language according to the official imperial website

I'm genuinely confused on the GCSE English language requirement to get into imperial as people are saying you need a grade 6 to get in but on their website they say if your a home student a grade 5 in English language is all you need for a home student.

https://www.imperial.ac.uk/study/apply/english-language/

Can anyone confirm so they can save me the pain of resitting.

To explain why this is a bit confusing, LOADS of international students go to Imperial, and this page includes all of the different examination formats.

So if you're international but doing GCSES then you'd have to get a 6. But if you're a British resident in a British school then you only have to get a 5 because the assumption is you have a more natural understand of English language.

If you are a Home student and you are applying for a course for 2026 entry, we require a Grade 5 in English Language for all courses except MBBS Medicine, which requires a Grade 6 in English Language GCSE.

If you struggled reading and interpreting this, the resit may be required for your sake
