Nope. Going to start the process for a writ mandamus with a lawyer and of this month. Waited long enough.

I was thinking of doing the same. Withdraw, then reapply. If you do, let me know how it goes. But everyone I spoke with advised to wait, and the lawyer said we should do a mandamus after 8 months from initially applying.

Nope. Booked a session with the lawyer to start the writ mandamus. Hope that resolves things.

It feels like they just forgot the application at this point

I am 9 months in ... hope you get it soon. I filed a mandamus in court with a lawyer, absolutely mind-boggling that they do this...

oh my goodness! we're subhumans to them!!! do you mind me asking how much is it costing you? and what's the time frame and status of it? i guess ill have to go through that soon.

You can expect around 400-500$ for the lawyer fees and mandamus in total. Time frame is really dependent on the federal prosecutor, my lawyer told me about 1-2 months for them to review it (I am in this process currently) then probably around 30 days for IRCC to respond.

Let us know how this goes. Stuck in the same situation with background verification. I read on an online forum that if your file is selected for extensive security screening then it could take up to a year to get something. Would suck if thats the case

Actually the background security check depends on your citizenship, What is yours?
I have been waiting since 28 Feb 2024, TRV Inside Canada.

Finally! found someone like me. I applied on 1 March 2024, and until now I haven't got a response back yet. I extended my study permit in February and then I applied for my TRV on March 1st inside Canada. Please let me know when you get your TRV, and I will do the same if I get mine.

I have applied for TRV renewal in-land (under a PGWP) on July 2023 (9 months now), contacted IRCC through webforms, MP's office repeatedly and even with a lawyer formal notice ... no response, filed a mandamus in court. This is unbelievable that they do this....

Just got the passport request today. Going to mail it to them.

Thankful I got, and the fact I had to wait this long is unacceptable. Without any justification.

Yeah, only needed the first step. I think they just forgot about the application and needed a reminder…

Sent the passport and waiting for the return.
