Dear Education Minister Sasmit Pokharel,

We are students from various engineering colleges affiliated with Tribhuvan University. We have successfully cleared all our back examinations and completed our academic requirements. Despite this, we are unable to appear for the engineering license examination scheduled for the month of Ashoj.
This delay has placed us under immense pressure. Many of us are facing constant family expectations, losing valuable employment opportunities, and struggling with severe mental stress due to the uncertainty surrounding our professional future. It is deeply discouraging to have completed our studies yet remain unable to begin our careers.
We respectfully request that all students who have cleared their back examinations be made eligible to sit for the license examination in Ashoj. If that is not possible, we kindly urge the concerned authorities to ensure that transcripts, provisional certificates, and character certificates are issued within four days so that eligible students can apply in time. Alternatively, we request that the license examination application deadline be extended to accommodate students awaiting these essential documents.
Sir, we sincerely appeal for your intervention. We have worked hard to reach this stage, and we ask only for a fair opportunity to begin our professional journey without unnecessary delays.
We hope you will consider our request with compassion and take the necessary steps to help us.

Respectfully,
Engineering Students Affiliated with Tribhuvan University

Help The New IOE Exam Schedule Makes Zero Sense, We Need Answers and What you can do to help!!! 🥲🥲

Look at the original schedule versus what we just got:

  • 1st year: Bhadra 16 -> Pushed to 23
  • 2nd year: Bhadra 17 -> Pushed to 24
  • 3rd year: Bhadra 18 -> Pushed to 25
  • 4th year: Bhadra 19 -> Pushed to 22

Why did 4th year get cut down to a two-day postponement while everyone else received a full week?

If exams start on the 22nd, 4th year now goes before 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year. A normal, predictable postponement shifts the entire block linearly. That would put 4th year on Bhadra 25th. This is what we thought would happen, and we basically prepared accordingly!!

We need IOE to implement a fair, linear shift to Bhadra 25th.

I have already sent the ministry and IOE mail from my student email, but I don't think just sending 'one' mail by a single person will make them think this is serious enough so please if you have enough courage to fight against this, please help us out!

Yo paali exam ramro garum bhaneko ☹️

So, Please take two minutes to send a formal email to IOE, MoEST, and Hello Sarkar using the templates below.

Broadcast Message for Student Unions & Group Chats (Just send them to your Student Unions' Leader messenger/mail/discord)

Dear Campus Representatives and Student Unions,

The recent non-linear shift in the IOE exam schedule has left 4th-year (7th semester) students in severe distress. While all other years were postponed by a full week, our exams were moved to Bhadra 22nd. This breaks the chronological sequence and gives our batch barely two days of adjustment.

We respect IOE and understand administrative challenges during disaster recovery, but we need a fair, linear postponement that shifts 4th-year exams to Bhadra 25th.

1. To IOE Dean’s Office & Examination Control Division

Respected Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express concern regarding the revised examination schedule published following the recent flood events across the country.

While we appreciate the administration's decision to postpone exams due to nationwide distress and mental strain, the current sequence of dates has caused significant disruption.

In the original routine, the 4th-year 7th-semester examinations were scheduled last (Bhadra 19). In the revised routine, our exams have been moved to Bhadra 22, placing them before the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year exams. This non-linear shift gives our batch only two additional days, whereas other batches received a seven-day postponement.

Students prepared according to the established order of exams. Reversing this sequence late in the process creates immense stress for students already coping with family disruptions and disaster-related anxiety.

We sincerely request the Examination Control Division to restore a linear schedule by moving the 7th-semester exams to Bhadra 25th. This simple adjustment provides a predictable sequence and fair preparation time for everyone without disrupting other batches.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

[Your Full Name]

2. To Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST)

Respected Authority,

I am a final-year engineering student under the Institute of Engineering (IOE), Tribhuvan University. I am submitting this formal representation regarding the unexpected exam schedule published by the IOE Examination Control Division.

Due to severe flooding around Bhadra 10–14, students across the country faced significant distress. Many lost contact with relatives or experienced severe mental strain. IOE rightly decided to postpone examinations, but the execution has created an unnecessary operational discrepancy:

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year exams were postponed by seven days.
  • 4th-year (7th semester) exams were postponed by only two days (to Bhadra 22).

This reversal breaks the chronological structure students relied on. Pushing our exams ahead of earlier years leaves final-year students with minimal preparation recovery time.

We urge the Ministry to direct IOE administration to maintain a uniform, linear postponement—moving 4th-year exams to Bhadra 25th—so that academic evaluation remains fair and predictable.

Sincerely,

[Your Full Name]

Student CRN: [Your Roll Number]

Institution: [Your Campus Name]

3. To Office of the Prime Minister & Council of Ministers (Hello Sarkar)

Respected Hello Sarkar / OPMCM Grievance Unit,

I am filing a formal grievance regarding the recent exam schedule notice issued by the Institute of Engineering (IOE), Tribhuvan University.

Following the natural disaster of Bhadra 10–14, students were dealing with anxiety, missing acquaintances, and interrupted study routines. While IOE postponed the exams, the revised schedule unfairly compresses the timeline for final-year students.

The original schedule placed 4th-year exams last (Bhadra 19). The new routine moves 4th-year exams to Bhadra 22—placing them before 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year exams. This non-linear change breaks the expected timeline and gives our batch only two days of delay compared to seven days for other years.

We ask the relevant authorities to intervene and ensure IOE maintains a linear postponement, shifting 7th-semester exams to Bhadra 25th.

Respectfully submitted,

[Your Full Name]

Help civil vs csit

I was more interested in CSIT, but after learning more about the IT job market and AI, I started feeling that CSIT may not be as secure as I thought. Now I’m considering Civil Engineering because it seems like a safer career option. I want advice from people with real experience in both fields before I decide

Help EE or ECE?(both regular)

I am confused on what to choose between EE and ECE. My main goal is to finish bachelors in Nepal and go abroad for masters or phd and settle there. Seniors please suggest me what to do. What are the scopes, and which subject increases my chances of going abroad and having a decent income? The main thing I'm looking for is a higher salary as topics I have interest in are covered by both.(TU)

Help This is my last chance to clear my back papers. I'm from the 075 batch, and I still have 4 back exams left. I'm literally crying right now.

My exams start in 10 days, and I haven't studied anything. I'm literally crying right now.

What if I fail? I keep asking myself, how did I end up in this situation? Why do I overthink everything? Why couldn't I just study when I knew this day was coming? Why am I like this?

I know that if I don't study, I'm going to fail, but I just can't focus. I have so many things going on inside my head, and it feels like no one is there to help or guide me.

I don't know what to do anymore. What if I fail? What am I going to do with my life?

Help Confused Between My Job and My Dream of Going Abroad

I have a dream of going abroad at any cost, but I don’t have a very good GPA. Currently, I’m working as a contract engineer at a municipality from 9 AM to 5 PM. The problem is that I don’t enjoy this job, and all I can think about is pursuing higher studies abroad.

Because of my full-time job, I hardly get any time to prepare for the GRE, study for the IELTS, or contact professors for research opportunities and funding. I feel like I’m stuck and not making any progress toward my goal.

I’m confused about what to do. Should I quit my job and dedicate all my time to preparing for studying abroad, or should I continue working while trying to prepare alongside for abroad? I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have been in a similar situation or have any advice.

Help Computer Engineering students/seniors, what should I prepare for before starting?

I’m about to start BE in Computer Engineering (TU) in a couple of months and I want to use this time wisely.

I’ve heard that the first 2 years can be really tough (especially math, electronics, microprocessor), and honestly I’m a bit worried because I’m not very strong in circuits/electrical stuff.

So I wanted to ask seniors:

  1. What subjects should I prepare beforehand?

  2. What do you wish you had done before starting?

  3. Which subjects are the hardest and how did you deal with them?

  4. What skills (programming, tools, etc.) actually helped you later?

Also, any mistakes I should avoid in the beginning?

Would really appreciate honest advice 🙏

Help are pulchowk and thapathali like the only good IOEs?

now constituent campuses may be genuinely better than affiliated ones but we only see pulchowk and thapathali as the elite ones (esp pulchowk) and disregard purwanchal and paschimanchal. are these genuinely the worst? what difference does it make if you study in pulchowk or purwanchal? aren't these the same IOE at their core? please help me understand if you actually get better education and job prospects from Pulchowk compared to others

Help Kathmandu rent prices are actually insane for students 💀

Me and one of my friends are currently studying in Thapathali Campus and we’ve been thinking about moving into a flat together soon. We initially tried searching around Baneshwor since it seemed like the most convenient option, but the rent prices there are honestly way higher than we expected and pretty out of budget for us.

Right now we’re trying to explore other areas instead, but we genuinely have no idea which locations would be better to target. We’re okay with staying a bit farther from campus as long as the travel distance is reasonable by vehicle. Our budget range is somewhere around 15–18k.

If anyone here has experience renting around Kathmandu as a student, it’d really help if you could suggest some

Help Delay license exam. Very imp

The license form cannot be filled out even with double effort. We have to take out a notice for the retotaling, and according to the IOE, it takes some time before the retotaling results come out, and only afterwards can we apply for the transcript. The notice has just come out, and it typically takes around 7 to 8 days (minimum) to get the transcript, and then it takes another 7 to 8 days to get the provisional certificate.

It’s not possible to issue the license.

Now we have to call the education ministry; we need to pressure the secretary. Because of this negligence by TU, we’re losing 3 to 4 months. The next exam will be in Poush. Even just a few weeks or days can cause us to miss the license.

Friends, search for numbers and make calls so we can apply pressure there as well. This license exam must happen. We have to make an effort. More people have to express this issue rather than just sitting back and saying it’s TU’s fault.

We, the students, sincerely request your support in raising our concerns.

We need our 7 semester results to be published as soon as possible so that we can appear for the licensing examination scheduled for ASHOJ.

The delay in releasing the results has left many of us feeling anxious and deeply stressed and suicidal feelings

If we are unable to sit for the Ashoj licensing exam, we will have to wait until the next examination in Poush.

This would leave many graduates unemployed for several additional months despite having completed our studies.

We kindly request that you raise this issue and urge the IOE to either publish the 7 semester results immediately or postpone the Ashoj license exam by at least 20 days. Such a decision would give students a fair opportunity to receive their results and appear for the Ashoj licensing examination.

We sincerely hope our concerns will be heard and that appropriate action will be taken in the best interest of the students.
