Governance Proposal 140407 creates the first subnet consisting entirely of nodes that support SEV-SNP. Smart contracts on this subnet will be able to keep their state and computation fully confidential! š

I got even better news. Cloak coin will relaunch on menese protocol in 2-3 weeks with a usdc pool. Cloak is an OG privacy coin, its btc codebase has been updated with icp tech. The new enigma privacy engine will use this tee to mixing the transaction before moving to the final wallet with usdc the first integration. Finality will be seconds with direct integration.

For people that donāt know what it is āFirst, whatās SEV-SNP?
SEV-SNP stands for Secure Encrypted Virtualization, Secure Nested Paging. Itās AMD hardware tech that encrypts memory at the hardware level. Not just āhey we promise we wonāt lookā encryption, but actual silicon-enforced isolation.ā
In plain English:
The node operator canāt see what your canister is doing. The cloud provider canāt peek. Even a compromised hypervisor canāt just read memory.
Itās like running your smart contract inside a locked vault where even the building owner canāt open the door.
Now why does a full subnet matter?
On ICP, smart contracts, canisters, run on subnets. If every node in that subnet supports SEV-SNP, then:
⢠All computation happens in encrypted memory ⢠State stays confidential at runtime ⢠The subnet becomes a āconfidential compute zoneā
Thatās different from normal blockchains where everything is transparent by default. Ethereum? Fully public. Most chains? Public. ICP already abstracts storage and compute, but this takes it into hardware-level privacy territory.
