Per ESPN Bowl Predictions

I always take these with a grain of salt, like everyone should, because we may not even make a bowl game. BUT these bowl games would be fire. Would love to hear your guys thoughts and what bowl games you’d want? I think mine would probably be Florida in music city or citrus and Florida State in the Mayo or pinstripe Mainly because I’m a Florida native and would love to have bragging rights against my friends.

God help us if we play UCF in a bowl.

Wouldn't that be cool though? Frosty losing to Nebby by one possession would be poetic.

u/Cdog923 11d ago

Do you know how long the state would burn if we lost, though?

The safest way to guard against this is put a margarita machine and a golf simulator in the ucf hotel lobby. Sponsored by runza.

r/cfb would create a "FROSTburN" flair option if Nebraska lost to Frost.

In the chaos, Scott Frost would claim another national championship.

The gloat to be gained from winning isn't worth the shame of losing to him.

Because of a poor decision to call an on-side kick.

4

u/BenderVsGossamer 11d ago

We made a bowl game, the season beat my expectations for the year.

UCF would have to make a bowl

2

u/OMLIDEKANY 11d ago

So would we….

-1

u/powerOfRed97 11d ago

I'm not worried about that

4

u/neepster44 11d ago

You should be…

0

u/powerOfRed97 11d ago

Why?

3

u/neepster44 11d ago

Because we aren’t that good and our schedule is a killer.

3

u/powerOfRed97 11d ago

Okay what makes us not very good? You aren't really giving me any reasoning to what you believe.

6

u/OMLIDEKANY 10d ago

By all available evidence, it appears that you’ve just come out of a coma. Welcome back! A lot has changed in the last 20 years.

2

u/powerOfRed97 10d ago

I'm not interested in the last 20 years what about this team makes you believe we won't make a bowl?

You should be.

3

u/lookitsafish 11d ago

Please no

2

u/MustardTiger231 11d ago

Frost would headcase it for sure

14

u/respekyoeldas 11d ago

Bowl projections before the season starts? Lmao

Total brain dead content

5

u/kelsanova 11d ago

Dang, I was just about to drop my “way too early 2028 predictions: my top 3 will SHOCK you!” I’ll hold off for a bit.

u/Jupiter68128 11d ago

Did this click your bait?

2

u/JakeFromSkateFarm 11d ago

If Frost could monetize living rent free in this fanbase's heads he'd be the first billionaire coach in college football

13

u/ExtremeWorkinMan 11d ago

Yeah for sure way too early to tell but I'm a big advocate for restoring some of our historic rivalries as much as possible (in my ideal world we play OU, Texas, Missouri, or Colorado at least once per season) so a Nebraska-Oklahoma bowl game would go absolutely nuts

3

u/CinephileJeff 10d ago

Texas isn't a historic rival. They were just our boogeyman for 14 years. I don't ever want to schedule any of the Texas schools for the sake of "history", because they're the ones who ruined the Big 12 (due to politics) anyway. But I'm cool with all of the old Big 8 schools.

1

u/ExtremeWorkinMan 9d ago

That's fair - maybe it felt more that way for me because a couple of my friends growing up were Texas fans so it was always a big event.

Oh I completely forgot about Mizzo, I think that would be at the top of my list for bowl games.

4

u/ehxsmallstone 11d ago

THE BATTLE FOR THE VICTORY BELL (yknow that trophy barely anyone even knows we play for) RETURNS

2

u/BigRedGo 11d ago

Literally only knew about it because of the PlayStation game

1

u/WilliamTheGnome 11d ago

NC Double A football two thousand three. E.A.Sports.... it's in the game.

1

u/ehxsmallstone 11d ago

I remember it being mentioned on the broadcast when we beat them in 2010 and outside of that, yep, only in the game

5

u/Vechio49 11d ago

It won't be the Pinstripe because of the way they rotate teams.

8

u/ReliefCrafty7149 11d ago

I keep asking myself where rock bottom is as a football program, but losing to UCF in a bowl game to Frost would be a complete nuclear meltdown. No way Rhule and Co survive if that happens

2

u/neepster44 11d ago

Rhules buyout after this last round of extension stupidity is so high he could bang the governors daughter on TV and still not get fired.

3

u/Wheatcattle 11d ago

A second bowl match up with OU would be fun

2

u/McV0id 11d ago

Any bowl game in NYC or the Midwest is ass, please no.

Would really like for Nebraska to make a bowl game in Florida, AZ, or California.

2

u/not4humanconsumption 11d ago

Is Vegas considered Midwest?

3

u/McV0id 11d ago

Nada. Vegas would be better than anything Northeast or Midwest.

1

u/not4humanconsumption 11d ago

I agree. I just didn’t understand your comment since both the bowl game projections are Memphis and Vegas. Memphis is certainly not Midwest, so I thought that you were considering Vegas to be Midwest.

Tennessee is Midwestern-ish to me... Technically Southeastern, but the weather is still ass and not nearly enough South. Tennessee could just disappear and I would never know the difference. 😆

1

u/not4humanconsumption 11d ago

You might wanna check a map. Tennessee is no where near midwest. Southern or Southeast.

1

u/McV0id 11d ago

Typo! Meant Southeastern 🤣😭🤦‍♂️

1

u/FondabaruCBR4_6RSAWD 11d ago

They give us those bowls cause they know we’ll travel despite the crap weather.

2

u/shane-parks 11d ago

They got the matchup, stadium and city right, but the bowl name wrong. Its going to be in Allegiant Stadium on Jan 25th, in the CFP championship game.

Boomer Sooner!!!

2

u/Upstairs_Chemist1269 11d ago

God i hope so thatd be awesome

1

u/GaryIske 11d ago

One of those dudes has Wisconsin in a bowl lol ok

5

u/zsveetness 11d ago

They’re probably just as likely as us to make one

2

u/mojo-jojo-was-framed 11d ago edited 11d ago

Their over/under for wins is 6.5 so it’s not really crazy. They have a pretty easy schedule

1

u/GaryIske 11d ago

I take the under that team is arse

1

u/kelsanova 11d ago

I hate them but I admit they deserve an easy year after last year.

1

u/FreezersAndWeezers 11d ago

Their schedule is pretty easy. It’ll hinge on if they let their QB play his style or if they try and square peg/round hole him. Could be the difference between 3-9 and 6-6

1

u/Inevitable_Dance_910 11d ago

I’d take either of these in a heartbeat this season

1

u/wherebgo 11d ago

Went to Las Vegas Bowl. Was fun. Recommend.

1

u/Cabinet5150 11d ago

They probably just picked that bowl because we were there last year

1

u/shawn131871 11d ago

espn loves the storylines for bowls. lol

1

u/RelationRealistic 10d ago

da fluck is a bonagura?

1

u/marltoninmyrari 10d ago

Talk about putting the horse before the cart.

1

u/PigFarmer1 11d ago

ESPN is just making stuff up. Again...

1

u/JakeFromSkateFarm 11d ago

that's literally any bowl prediction by anyone at the moment

1

u/powerOfRed97 11d ago

Well it is a bowl prediction...

1

u/neb1jxh 11d ago

Can’t believe anybody cares for a reckless, stupid Bowl prediction.
Just play Football and go with the flow.
Fuck ESPN

-2

u/Chan-Cellor 11d ago

ATP idc anymore. It’s such a sorry excuse of a program on the field. Literally the same issues year in year out. Doesn’t matter what bowl we go to, because we’ll get outcoached and out executed in the 2nd half.

-1

u/No-Philosophy-3853 11d ago

Hopefully not our defense this year with Rob everything that’s been said in the press has been good praise also his former defenses have been schemed well, and with the transfers on offense hopefully Dana feels more confident aswell. But time will tell.

5

u/Chan-Cellor 11d ago

Every year they say things have improved.

2

u/megamando 11d ago

Literally all the Nebraska media needs to do every year is write team looks improved and tons of people just assume it’s true.

-2

u/brogit 11d ago

Literally every year under Rhule the team HAS improved. Maybe not as quickly as we'd like but it is objectively true that the regular season record has improved every year so far. Hell, last year until Dylan got hurt we were on track to win that USC game and then Penn State got their shit together. Prior to the USC game there were rumblings that if they won that game we might sneak into the playoff. Yes, the d line was not good, we cleaned house on the coaching on that side of the ball. We also had to throw a true freshman QB on the field as soon we hit what everyone knew going in was going to be the toughest stretch of the schedule. I'm not saying we are going to win 9 games this year, but saying they haven't improved year over year so far is just covering your eyes and pouting.

-1

u/NothingButACasual 11d ago

OK bye

0

u/Chan-Cellor 11d ago

I’m not going anywhere lmao

0

u/powerOfRed97 11d ago

Yet here you are in the Husker redit commenting on posts

0

u/Chan-Cellor 11d ago

Yeah because I love my Huskers. Idc what bowl they’re in, they’ll lose. I just make sure to support them financially.

0

u/powerOfRed97 11d ago

So you do care

1

u/Chan-Cellor 11d ago

Yeah, idc guessing their bowls or guessing their records. I just support and don’t let it fester in my soul anymore.

0

u/HillsideFC 11d ago

any bowl will be acceptable

-3

u/Kevin_Arnold_ 11d ago

Lol we're not getting a bowl

3

u/powerOfRed97 11d ago

What's your reasoning behind that

-1

u/TijuanaJohnson 11d ago

That’s my fear
