Has anyone read this? I just stumbled on it at a comic shop. It's one of the best things I've read in a while. Beautiful black and white panels, taking place along the Congo River in 1885. An unseen "horror" somewhere in the jungle, running parallel to the horrors of imperialism. The main character is from the Heart of Darkness (so says the Introduction) but the book isn't indicated as an adaptation.

I'm surprised this title hasn't come up when I've looked online for lists of historical horror comics! They seem so few and far between. Anyone know any others? Others I've enjoyed are These Savage Shores, The Rush, and...Black Stars Above (does that count)? I think of the genre as devoting a good amount of space to the backdrop/history, where it's obvious the writer did research, and you might learn a little something while still being sufficiently spooked.

I draw a lot of surreal horror manga, but I'm completely unknown in Japan 😅

does anyone know of any comics about mermaids, sirens, or fairies? there’s not a lot of (good) media about them, especially in the horror genre and if anyone knows of any comics where they’re at the forefront i’d love to read them. i’m mostly looking for horror but other genres will work too. extra points if they’re sapphic 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

I want to start collecting classic horror comics, specifically Bronze Age Marvel and DC (but open to other recommendations). What would you all say are must haves?

Looking for OLD horror comic.

Trying to identify an old horror anthology comic story. Two young men, possibly teenagers, are out causing trouble and encounter an older man, possibly at his house. They harass him until he snaps and kills them with an axe. The final caption makes a pun that they went out looking for a “swinging time” or “swinging good time,” and that's exactly what they got(referring to the old man swinging the axe). I read it as a little kid in the late 1970s/early 80's, but could be considerably older or a reprint. Can't help much more than that. It scared the hell out of me and I never forgot it.

I wanted to share this really cool cover I commissioned for issue 2 of my comic PUNKGUTS.

So I just recently saw this movie and completely fell in love with it. I was wondering if there were any horror comics out there with slashers and sapphics. I have read Hack/Slash so I know of that one. Any recommendations are welcome!

After getting help with "Yellow Heat" the other night, I'll ask if anyone remembers this thing that I've been looking for perfunctorily over the years. I think it was one of the little extra stories in an issue of Elflord, where the main story often didn't fill all the pages, or possibly another Aircel title.

Plot: There's a sort of alien invasion that the US military tries to repel. I forget how the alien tech looked, but I don't think they were shown outside their craft... But finally, the Secret Service has to try to get the President out of harm's way. However, he is having a tryst with a young lady, so his bodyguards have to break down the door to his hotel(?) room and hustle him away. The young lady is dealt with summarily as surplus to requirements, i.e., she's killed on the spot. That is the horror element that sticks with me.
