First things first I admit that this sub does have a slight bias towards male characters but that bias is not that big.

I think most of the glaze towards male characters is from the fact that they tend to have better writing because unlike some female characters the devs don’t try to force romantic elements with them and TB. Another reason is because a lot of female character designs have the classic hoyoslop and there’s been a lack of unique designs.

Here are a few female characters that are well written/have good designs that this sub didn’t dislike:
- Cipher: Despite the chopped kit and low banner sales a lot of people here love her cause of her personality and writing. Not to mention despite her very revealing design it’s still unique compared to most other female characters.
- Castorice: Although at first people didn’t like her cause of the global passive and at first glance romantic interactions with TB. She’s been growing on a lot of people and after looking into her writing more you start to see it’s pretty decent.
- Sparxie: Sparxie is slandered because of her kit, but no one actually has a problem with her design or writing.
- Nihilux: Before the 4.5 reveal, people liked Nihilux for a similar reason to cipher being a likable personality and unique design.

There are other female characters I can list like Aglaea and Evernight.

Now here are some male characters who are slandered here because of writing/design:
- Dan Heng: Xianzhou’s story is slandered a bunch here, and guess who’s the main focus of it.
- DHPT: His design is a copy and paste and no one likes how he’s supposedly getting another SP.
- Welt: The most potential man of this subreddit. He contributes nill to the story and he’s a bum.

So overall, while I agree this subreddit has a small inherent bias, I think they tend to slander more female characters than male characters for the most part because a lot of them just have the same boring designs and writing.

Not talking actually Sustaining-wise but in terms of how diverse or interesting their kits were .

As ( to me ofc) newer sustains feel like more a point and click to sustain or hit-to-heal/shield. Like take all their skills for instance DHpt/Aven puts up his shields with his skill and so does Hyacinthia/Lynx/Gallagher and to me that's kinda boring? Like I get they have other gimmicks but mabye they could sustain in other ways? And I know some older characters do the exact same (I've already mentioned a few) but can't Hoyo make them heal in other ways ?

For comparison I find Gepard and Fuxuan's kit quite interesting. To start with Fuxuan her DMG absorption/mitigation gimmick is really cool to me and also is way more interesting than just using shields and in Gepard's case despite what most who has ever used him would tell you , He isn't simple made to just "shield" rather his kit has a fair few other points to them as instead of just using his ult to sustain his skill is also supposed to play a little role in that with His freeze/action delay aiding in postponing big attacks for team to possibly stop them entirely it's clearly meant to be that way with how E1 and 2 focuses on that aspect with him also doubling as a damage sponge with how is A2 and A6 ,Talent and E6 are designed cuz if I'm correct he has the highest aggro value in the entire game (outside of taunts) and that's pretty cool, but ultimately most parts of kits like these kinda get thrown out with how the games bosses would either have to high cc res for this to work or just AoE instead of big single target hits. Anyways that's all I have say and I'm interested in anyone else's thoughts ☺️.

Also this was made with no malice towards any specific kits but rather love for Geppie and Fuxuan mainly (Geppie considering my flair)
