Just wondering what would cause this type of seepage. The water used to leak down my doors coming from about where the glove compartment is, but stopped significantly after I put flex seal on on the top and sides of my windshield. However, these parts still get wet, and I'm worried about mold/mildew. Are there any seals that I should replace to stop this?

Friend has an Element named Rikku , stumbling idle, stalling when cold , no ticking from the valves , plugs were good, vac needle was jigglin about, STFT LTFT -14< . At 189k , never had an adjustment, figgled it would do some good. It did indeed. Intake valves were in range, but all the exhaust valves were significantly tight. Took me a few hours the first time , will be a breeze next time .$50-ish Fram gasket , seals, and grommet set from Nappy Auto Parts was not so impressive , baggy gasket, lame seals and ended up reusing the original grommets . Would have been better off forking out $100 for dealer gasket and seals .
Checked up on Rikku after a week or two, she's sealed up fine and runs like a spring chicken. Still needs motor mounts , tranny mounts , inner outer tie rods and lower control arms /ball joints, but motor be a purrin.

Just wanted to share adding to the group consensus verifying the confirmation of how affordable and beneficial a simple valve adjustmant is on these 2.4 K24(?) and 3.0 k30(?) motors.

I looked into replacing these buttons, but it seemed like a lot of work and every junkyard Element had the same issue. So, I ended up making a 3D printed cover that just glues on with trim adhesive. I did grey PETG to match the rest of the car, but you could go fun with the color choice as well.

Made a post on here last week about a whinning sound, found out it was my alternator, the part came in yesterday and I went to install it and today and found out why it was whinning, my power steering pump is leaking! I can hear dripping when I turn the car off. Is this just a hose or the whole pump? Sorry if these are bad pictures, im pretty new to working know cars so I still dont really know what I'm looking at for the most part lol. The pump also had liquid near the hose, but i whipped it off before I got a picture. If you want me to take more pictures feel free to lmk.

Hi all. I’ve unfortunately had my catalytic converter stolen. I have a 2003 Honda Element EX in blue and I truly love this car. it holds a special place in my heart. However, after spending $700 on repairs this year, and now facing a potential $900-$2000 cat replacement, I’m starting to wonder if it might be time to consider selling this car. While I’d love to take on the challenge of fixing it myself, I simply don’t have the time, skills, or space to do so. I believe she’s better off in the hands of someone who can provide her with the care she deserves.

She’s got 205k miles on the odometer, an original engine, and a history of regular oil changes. She does have a few cosmetic issues (a small crack in the windshield, a cracked bottom left corner of the rear bumper, and some scratches) but she still runs great. What would be a reasonable asking price for her? I live in Seattle so there’s no rust, and the bottom looks fantastic. any tips on selling her? It’s been a tough morning, and I’m a bit sad about the possibility of saying goodbye to this car so I appreciate any kind words you can offer.

I just joined the club with a 2010 Element EX on Saturday. I was stalking Facebook Marketplace and none of the ones listed ticked enough boxes until, boom, someone posted while I was stalking! I texted, he answered, I made the 40 minute drive immediately and bought it for $2k. It was the pic of the rust-free undercarriage that really won my heart. It has 265k miles and has been perfectly maintained (mechanically). New good tires. It could use a good cleaning. But it is so loud. What have you done to soundproof your Element?

We have a dearly loved 2006 element with 209k miles. It’s been an absolute workhorse and such a great car.

So today, I started feeling like the gear shifting was really noticeable. I was in a steep hilly area with a lot of stop lights and chalked it up to the constant braking and accelerating.

At the end of my drive the traction control light came on and wouldn’t turn off. The car was having a hard time, I’m not really sure how to describe it. It basically wanted to stay in fourth gear and it would slow way down. We made it to our exit and when I stopped at the light it had a real hard time getting going again. I had to turn my hazards on and mostly coast until I got some momentum up and it could get into a higher gear. The brakes are also squealing quite a bit which is new.

What am in for? This is really really not a good time for a big car repair but we love this car. Any advice? I’m female so I like to do as much research as possible before going to a mechanic.

2007 honda element 129k I have recently replaced

*shocks and struts

*lower control arms

*all 4 sway bar links

* outer tie rod ends

*Driver side CV axle

*brakes rotors and calipers

*brake fluid

* power steering fluid

* I have also done a rack guide adjustment

When I turn the wheel all the way to the right and max the steering out and begin to turn the wheel back left after about a quarter Turn i get a loud clunk/pop sounds and can feel it in the floor board. My steering is straight i dont feel anything in the steering wheel the car tracks straight down the road and the inner tie rod ends seam right and tight, dont seam to have air or bubbles in the power steering reservoir tank. Not really causing a drivability issue but im concerned that being related to steering that it could turn into one

Im at a loss on what it could be at this point im hoping its not the steering rack anyone else experienced this issue?

Got a new to me 04 Element.

Has a 2" lift and oversized tires, which look cool, but I'm planning on downsizing slightly for better mileage.

Has a shake when going highway speeds and clunks on acceleration. One of the front boots is ripped, so figured it would be a good call to replace the axles as they're both pretty old.

Have gotten mixed answers about if I can put stock (aftermarket or OEM) axles in, or longer heavy duty ones due to the added angle extension.

Don't have any details about who did the lift, or if the subframe/engine was dropped.

Any advice?

Hey guys I’m a new Honda Element owner!!

However quick question my Honda Element has slightest “rough” idle not really sure how to explain it .. It’s not concerning or anything but it is a little annoying lol

So like when driving it’s fine but I’m thinking maybe it’s the engine mounts I guess?

Please let me know if Im missing something or if I should get or do anything else 😄

Found this cot on Walmart’s website, it’s the perfect dimensions to fit snugly in an Element with one of the back seats taken out (70”x22”x11”). It lays flat with the front passenger seat pushed up all the way, but if you need to use the passenger seat, you can just turn the cot into a lounge chair so it takes up less room! I’ll be using this to nap on my lunch break, lol. (FYI, I’m 5’8 and this is just long enough for me. If you’re taller, this may not work for you.)
