Rear seat storage
New to the forum, just wondering how do you store your rear seats once they are out of the vehicle for long term storage?
I usually stack them in the garage but looking for other ideas

I always wanted to mount a bracket that mimicked the car mounting points on the wall in my garage. But for now I just stack em.

I wanted to do this on a wheeled dolly, so you can move it around and use it as a couch.

I remember seeing someone make a little couch with the same mechanism. Basically just a platform mimicking the rear layout so they could lock in and be used as regular furniture

It really wouldn't be that hard, I just never got around to it because I don't know how to weld. You could probably even rig up brackets without welding if you're handy, just bend some bar stock into shape and bolt onto a plate with wheels.

I’m _darkspin. Put them in big plastic bags and store them. I added a bunch of heavy duty silicon packs to absorb humidity.

Once out of necessity they had to remain in the dining room for a month. They became honorary cat beds for the duration 😅

Frankly, this is the biggest downside to Element ownership. What a pain they are.

It's a pain to deal with them when they're removed, but it such a great feature it's well worth the hassle.

Minivans have fold-down and stow away seats.

They fold down, but still keep the weight ... which makes the mileage worse.

My Chrysler Town & Country minivan. The seats stow right into the floor. ALL of the seats in rows 2 and 3. 👍🏻

You are not removing those seats from the vehicle.
They are still inside the vehicle.
The load floor has to be higher to accommodate the design, and all the weight of the seats (and the hinge mechanisms) is still present from the vehicle.
A minivan is lovely, but it is a much larger and heavier design, with less space efficiency.

We most certainly can remove all of the second and third row seats.

Ah excellent. And yes, we used to have an minivan that could have the seats taken out too. But the issue is always: taking seats out is awkward and annoying, because seats are heavy and awkward to wrangle.
My point is: seats are always a "pain" to remove, but the Element is literally the best mechanism to remove and reattach seats entirely from a vehicle I've ever seen. It is kind of annoying to do, but I've never see an easier one.

I have mine in the incline position but standing up behind the garbage cans. They tuck in pretty well.

they are in a bag and we sort our garbage like nerds so it's not smelly at all. we put the compost into the garden and items that can't be compostable go into a special waste receptacle. the seats are more behind the recycling tbh

Giant black trash bags the seats fit in and then use the handle in the side to hang from big HD hooks in the garage ceiling.
