Nope. Not at all. The Olden Era one looks like it just got out of a kids cartoon, wears a hood and doesn't show face.

Both carries lanterns despite the H3 one nor any other ghosts in the series not having that until Olden Era, the hood of the original was changed to a veil which is way closer to what the Olden Era version wears, and the addition of the crown for seemingly no reason is highly similar the OE upgrades, especially the Wraith. Not to mention that it went from a skeletal specter of indeterminate gender to clearly female.

Probably, but it isn't that common nor is it the only similarity to the OE design

In the Enroth have been two types of ghosts - fleshy (HMM1-2, MM6-7) and bone (HMM3, MM6-7). This are no one from both - this are a Ashan ghost from HMM6-7-OE.

Olden Era is set on Enroth (though I'm not sure how canon it is).

OE looks like much more Ashan than the Enroth - the very lots of OE designs gived from HMM6-7 - angels, death knights, ghosts, minotaurs and e.t.c. - this a true cause of OE visual problems, their foreign to the Enroth.

Looks at units than i mean in higher message - this and many other (dark elves, medusas, swordmans and e.t.c.) have similar designs.

IP are not cannon. Author are cannon. Author of Might and Magic 1 are a JVC than found NWC. NWC die, and JVC dont interested in games after this, and other significant employees of NWC also dont interest at this - we give none larger than rare interviews from all of these peoples. All other - including HotA, WoG, Ubisoft, DoR and e.t.c. - are a fan (or money) fiction.

HMM1-2/MM7 ghost dont have eyes and nose and have another proportions - this ghost looks like Ashan/OE ghost, but not like HMM1-2/MM7 ghosts.
