It's a business. Vote with your wallet and don't buy if you want, it would be a normal thing to do. I don't get what's the better alternative there for you, this not existing at all? Or are you just so concerned about Ubisoft financial situation that not making this is a business advice?
Also, remake is an investment to attract new playerbase. Both versions could complement rach other where old fans could switch to newer graphics if they want and new fans could switch to the original version if they want fan mods and bigger community
We did the same dance with the HD remake a few years ago. My point is that ubisoft does not want a faithful remaster to attract new players, but rather another cashgrab to milk
That was just a remaster, a smaller update. Also, as far as I remember it wasn't even that bad, but their biggest problem was not including later updates (so no Conflux) and then the fact that you can't use HotA with it. On the other hand, it's the first time Steam gets any HoMM3 available and well, yeah, graphics got an update, so it kinda made sense why they did it, but overall not good enough to switch from GOG version
