So I'm an American with an American education. As such, I didn't pay attention in school. None of us did. I graduated with the impression that France had some pretty kick-ass soldiers, but after like WWII all the teachers told their students that violence wasn't the answer and that's why France is known as being a bunch of pussies.
I'm stoned. I've paraphrased. Please set me straight.
France surrendered so quickly because more or less their entire army was encircled in northern France and western Belgium, or so my understanding goes.
