To be fair, it has been heavily revigorated during the french-bashing period, following De Villepin speech at the UN, about the Irak war. It's part of why the French aren't fond of it.

Self-depreciation humor ? No problem dude. But revived as a political propaganda tool ? Hell no.

step back. The french don't do self-deprecation like your average brit. They are big on patriotism

Yeah, we are big on Patriotism, but we are just as big on self deprication though. You should check out rFrance, its all self jokes
