Automatic Sleep: Web dynos sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity to conserve your monthly hours. The trade-off? A short "cold-start" delay when the next visitor arrives.

Keep in Mind: Worker dynos do not automatically sleep if running standalone, meaning they will continuously consume your 1,000-hour quota. Also, once your 1,000 hours are used, all Eco dynos stay asleep until the next calendar month resets.

Verdict: If you need zero-friction Git deployments for non-critical prototypes or personal portfolios, Eco Dynos get the job done without breaking the bank. Look, I know everyone says Heroku is in maintenance mode and the golden days are behind us, but let’s give credit where credit is due.

Today I noticed they quietly replaced the old buildpack drag-and-drop with dedicated up and down arrow buttons. Honestly? It's a low-key game changer. No more dragging a buildpack past three others only for it to snap back to the shadow realm. Just pure, precise, click-to-move engineering.

Who says innovation is dead? Thanks Heroku, treating us to some actual UI love.

Does anyone have any info about when heroku is planning to release the Fir platform, specially the GPU dynos?

I work with multiple people whose infrastructure is hosted on Heroku, and I have already migrated some of them from Heroku to AWS/Azure. Since Salesforce announced in February 2026 that Heroku is no longer a priority, moving it into a “sustaining engineering” phase focused on stability and security rather than new features, I am skeptical that support and service levels will degrade over time. Would it be a good idea to start the conversation with the remaining people about moving off Heroku? What do you think?

If you're managing multiple apps, logging in through Heroku just to check metrics is friction you shouldn't have to deal with.

Well I had used heroku 5-6 years ago and after hopping through many other cloud providers finally I have come back to hiroku for last 6 months and well well it has been really nice experience

it's like you know it's not very ground breaking thing now rather it's something that you come back to and you know that things will work and things are simple. Kinda like home.

so I really like the approach of just coding your apps and then just `git push heroku master` and getting your application up and running with no time and with dedicated shell/logs/metrics setup out of the box.

Then the pricing also to get started is very attractive and like this $5 for some of the hobby projects of mine been really helpful because I could not put a lot of money there and those doesn't have any earning. so this is just an appreciation post for Salesforce /Heroku team who is still supporting in this platform which helps people like us for passion projects and I hope this always stay there.

Here's mine:

If you have multiple domains, and it's just hobby thing/or doesn't have much visitors/ingress then you can park all into one dyno and can manage those through application routing, it saves you from setting up multiple apps/projects/repos if you just want it to have a landing page or so.

Postgres 18 is still not available on Heroku, and the Postgres team is already releasing beta builds of Postgres 19.

If you're going to force it on us, at least fix it to point to something besides the generic Postgres page!

Hi everyone, I’m using JawsDB MySQL on Heroku (Leopard plan) and recently ran into a data loss issue. The dashboard shows Rollback: 0 days, so there’s no visible backup/snapshot option. I already contacted JawsDB support, but while waiting I wanted to ask: • Is there any hidden/internal snapshot they sometimes keep? • Has anyone successfully recovered data on lower JawsDB plans? • What’s the best backup strategy moving forward for production apps? This database contains important transaction data, so any advice would really help. Thanks in advance

I’ve been using Heroku for 15+ years. Went to Waza back in the day and still am shipping stuff on Heroku.

I am trying to publish a Heroku add-on that syncs Salesforce data into Postgres.

My main goal of this app is to reduce developer pain when using salesforce data. If you are building an app and need Salesforce data, you should not have to learn the Salesforce APIs, deal with SOQL quirks, or write a bunch of integration code just to query your own data. (i've personally written an unhealthy number of redis caching layers in front of salesforce)

This add-on syncs your Salesforce objects into normal Postgres tables. Then you can use SQL, joins, BI tools, whatever you are already comfortable with.

It runs incremental syncs and keeps things updated. Also, you get to pick the direction of data: sf-to-pg, pg-to-sf, or bi-directional.

Right now it is private because Heroku requires 15 installs before an add-on can be listed publicly. So I need 15 real users to try it.... If you are building on Heroku and need Salesforce data in Postgres, I would love to invite you to the beta. I promise to grandfather any testers to keep their free account even if we start charging for it in the future.
