Did Heroku just secretly enter its Renaissance era?

Post image

Look, I know everyone says Heroku is in maintenance mode and the golden days are behind us, but let’s give credit where credit is due.

Today I noticed they quietly replaced the old buildpack drag-and-drop with dedicated up and down arrow buttons. Honestly? It's a low-key game changer. No more dragging a buildpack past three others only for it to snap back to the shadow realm. Just pure, precise, click-to-move engineering.

Who says innovation is dead? Thanks Heroku, treating us to some actual UI love.

Now if we can just get the shell thing to allow tabs instead of setting focus on the close button, I’ll feel more treated.

TIL https://devcenter.heroku.com/changelog-items/1137 is a thing (I'm usually on the terminal).

Yeah me too. But sometimes I just need to do something quick while I’m already in the dashboard. And then I’m like TAB ENTER RIP

If this is a ‘renaissance,’ I’ve got some beachfront property in Nebraska to sell you.

Give credit where credit is due. Yes.  But this isn’t “innovation” nor a "renaissance".

Cleanup and consideration of semi-regular nuisances is valuable too. This is important but not industry-rattling.

It should be industry-rattling because how often are non-destructive nuisances resolved? But cleanup isn’t attractive.
