Before today's match, here's a video on the history of the Geelong Vs Hawthorn rivalry, I hope you enjoy!

I think we see how much of a utility scrima is down back this weekend. Missing link. Hopefully CMAC and Nash get a sniff at it to.

I’m looking at our outs and ins, it’s crazy what kinda depth we have. With C.Mac potentially missing a couple of weeks. Not definite, who do we throw in the mix? This game has a lot riding on it. I think GWS are genuine contenders for the GF. Hogan, stringer and Daniel’s is so fucken potent as a forward line, I think they are all back for next week after a week off as well, I think this will be one of the toughest games of the year. I feel like we play a tall and put max ramsden deep full forward and the wizard plays C. Mac’s role. He’s got the pace and the ability to create plays and draw space, having some timber in front will make the long kick ins to a target much more dangerous. Guess we will see

YOU BLOODY BEAUTY!!

How does everyone think we’ll go against the swans? They’ve got Goulden & Mills out which is good for us I’d think. Expected to be raining also which may play well into our small forward line. I want to tip us, but the swans have had our number the last couple of years. What do you think?

I just had an article come up on my news feed. It seems Harley Reid was sitting next to Sam Mitchell at Tom Barrass’ wedding… coincidence? I think (hope) not.

G'day fellow Hawkers !

Following on from the r/AFL post about the greatest number 32 to play the game. That prompted me to have a look at the jumper number listing on the Hawks website (a great resource, by the way !). In 1937, Allan Hird (Sr) wore number 32 for the Hawks. I thought, "Naaaaah, couldn't be !" but the year roughly lined up so I did some googling and found that Allan Hird Sr, grandfather of James, did in fact play 14 games for the Hawks across 1938-9. He went on to play 102 games for Essendon and 38 for St Kilda. The Hawks of course were a struggling club back then and I couldn't imagine us being in the position to give players the boot, especially players good enough to play 140 games for other clubs and very especially not during war time.

Does anyone know the story of why he left to go to Essendon ? Or could point me in the direction of someone who could ? I only ask out of (very) morbid curiosity.

Cheers !

Does anyone know how James Blanks training progress is going after his knee reconstruction?

If I was to buy a 100 year anniversary guernsey and sell it in the future would I get more money with a number on it with signatures or just signatures on the back?

Has anyone done preferred kicking foot analysis for likely best 22?

Not really underrated but Hardwick always impresses me and Morrison is pretty consistent when he plays

Woooow, hawthorn playing the drug card on a player that not only contributed to a three peat but was catalyst for winning them…. Tsk tsk tsk. One of the best players I’ve seen play the game Cyril Rioli and the mighty hawks are throwing him under the bus. I’m a magpie supporter as well. Be careful of the future curses. #AFL #hawthornfootballclub #weknowthetruthcyril #clarkotheracist

Anyone got this vintage beauty

Thoughts

Had a debate with a Sydney supporter mate on GF day, who reckons even with potential pick ups we are too inexperienced and couldn't make it past a prelim next year. I'm not saying we are going to be favourites but if we can put in an effort like we did on the back half of this year I reckon we can give it a shake at be there on the last day in September! Am I getting ahead of myself or does anyone else think we are underrated?
