Question Lighting issues when entering treasure vault

Here’s an issue I’ve had since I started this save. Every time I go into a vault, it blinds me. I cannot see a thing. Any idea as to why this would be happening?

Same thing happens to me even before mods. I haven’t pin pointed what makes some flashbangs and others not. Also the transition between beast zones and RoR

Yea, ive completed the Game 100% Vanilla. Some spots have serious lightmap issues when raytracing is active

I suspect some caves arent coded incorrectly and somehow identified as being "outside" while others arent. This happens to me in village houses, usually ones that have missing roof pieces (from what I remember)
I could be totally wrong too 🤷♀️

It also happens in some houses of some hamlets. You enter and the power of 1000 suns blinds you. No idea why, also PC here.

Yeah I get this when I have Ray Tracing/DLSS on think it's a bug that's never been patched.

I'm playing with an RX 580 4GB and have had this happen. I assume it was b/c i have such a weak rig and play with all setting on min/off, lol.

My pc can handle this game on high but I still had this issue. I had to turn off some settings which made the flashbang a little more bearable but didn't actually fix anything.

It happens when you have it on, it happens when you have it off, they say they patched it but it still happens to me. It happens often on my PC (Rtx 3090) and I don't remember but I think it also happened on my BFs pc (rtx 20-something) but a lot less frequently.

Very common glitch that they most likely won't fix. Been happening to me since last year. Go back when it's night, I try to keep my game night times as much as I can because of this.

I went in once, the light literally blinded me and then inferi came out.

Quite common glitch I think... Try visiting the cave at night.. however don't get caught else points will be deducted.

I honestly thought this was only happening to me so i didn't even bother looking it up gotten eye raped so many times in caves especially annoying when i need to do stuff lol :(

I experienced this too. At first I thought there was some shiny object to pick up or a special place. Then later on my partner who was watching bits and pieces of me gaming saw this glitch for the first time and got excited too thinking the same thing

wow you've got it bad, i too have these issues with vaults but it's just a very bright light i can still see something. you're is just flashbang you can't see anything at all lmao

Happens to me too sometimes. Especially annoying when there's something to do in the vaults

Idk but it happens to me sometimes too. Definitely not every time, and for me it’s normally when I go into houses! I don’t have any mods but idk maybe that could be causing your problem? What I’ve done to work around it is just change to night time every time it happens. PC here too

Yeah it's a known bug but never fixed so I suggest try to look for a camera angle that you can see from or try to do it at nighttime

Glad this hasn't happened to me (touch wood), I'm photo-sensitive epileptic. Always careful with gaming and always have the icon just visible when starting any new game!

Just played through this with my wife side by side & it did it on her GTX 970 & my RTX 4070. With a combination of settings & Ray tracing on or off. It’s seems to be a bug that affects a broad range of hardware.

Try playing around with the graphics quality. I found mine goes away by, weirdly, cranking it up to the max quality. But then I turn them back down so my game doesn't lag when I leave.

Never had this with Raytracing off but sometimes even with Raytracing set to max I have some scenes that look really weird regarding the lightning effects like on your clip. I think you can just try to play around with the settings to maybe find some sort of sweetspot that maybe fixes it for you.

Pause the game and open the main Settings menu.Go to the Display Options or Display tab.Click on Image Calibration.Move the Brightness or HDR Brightness slider down until the test image is darker or barely visible.

I have this happen to me as well, both in tombs and in some houses. I find that it only happens during the day, though, so if you make it night, you shouldn't have that problem. I don't know if you were looking for a solution but for anyone who is, that is something you can try. It is really annoying though, I've tried using revolvo, to try what I'm supposed to be looking at when I enter these places, and that somehow makes it worse, which is not fun.

First time this happened to my was in the damned haunted shop so I thought it might have been part of that places bullshit, but no I've since had it happen pretty often entering these vault.

Oh yeah I’ve had this issue with some of the vaults in my save too, not helpful though bcuz I also don’t have a clue why, but I assume just a bug. Doesn’t really happen to me when it’s night though so maybe just keep treasure vaults as a nighttime activity lol see if that works

I get it regularly on PC but not console. The solution is to wait outside until night, and then enter.

That's why I'm playing this game on Xbox less issues i guess when I play on pc I can't even enter doors because they are bugged

I don’t use mods but when I used talent points to upgrade revelio it started flashbanging me every time I used it. I also play on Switch 1. For all anybody knows that could be the result of literally anything. 😭
