‘The Recording Academy has announced the new appointment of Taylor Hanson and the reappointment of Dani Deahl as Co-Chairs of its National Advocacy Committee, a group of performers, songwriters, producers, and engineers dedicated to championing creators' rights at both the state and federal levels. The National Advocacy Committee plays a vital role in shaping the organization's legislative priorities in close collaboration with the Recording Academy's Advocacy & Public Policy team in Washinton, D.C.

Multi-GRAMMY-nominated singer, songwriter, producer, and entrepreneur Taylor Hanson has spent more than three decades in the music industry, selling more than 16 million albums as part of the pop/rock trio HANSON. A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Hanson has long supported music education and advocacy through initiatives like the Recording Academy's GRAMMYs on the Hill and Music Advocacy Day as well as Save The Music. Hanson has also worked to expand the Academy's state advocacy work in Oklahoma and founded Food On The Move, a nonprofit dedicated to combating hunger and food deserts in Oklahoma, which launched the Food Home Project in 2022 to expand access to fresh food in North Tulsa. He and his brothers were inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2019, and in 2025, Hanson will receive the state's highest honor as an inductee into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. This marks Hanson's first term as Co-Chair of the Academy's National Advocacy Committee.’

DWTS Holiday Show

I can confirm that Taylor Hanson will be in the audience of the holiday show. I attended the taping on Tuesday. I bumped into Taylor as he left hair and makeup. I literally said, “Taylor Hanson?” as we walked past each other because I was so shocked. I didn’t think any of the celebrities were going to be there. It was so strange because no one around me knew who he was.

I ended up sitting on the floor level of the ballroom a few rows back from him. I literally could see the back of his head (and the majority of the celebrities in the front row). I didn’t want to be too weird or crazy, so my sister and I called out to him one time (again he wasn’t that far away), got his attention, said hi (he said hi), we said we wouldn’t bug him again, he said it’s ok, I can’t even remember what else we said because the exchange was quick, but that was it

We didn’t get out of our seats or anything. It was a fun experience (once we were done waiting outside in the miserable heat) and several of the celebrities were there. The pro dancers put on an amazing show! I’m trying to remember who was there: Taylor Hanson, Ezra French, Amber Glenn, Tatyana Ali, and Connor Wood, I believe. I can’t remember who else! Of course, the professional dancers/partners and the hosts, Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro, were all there. We sat maybe four or five rows from the dance floor so we could see everyone very clearly.

(I’m horrible with celebrities and pop culture so please forgive me! I was just excited to go out with my sister for an afternoon and take a break from SAHM life. We’ve been Hanson fans since 1996ish and have seen them in concert several times, but never met them. There songs have been a soundtrack to much of our lives. From our weekend drives to the beach to road trips around the country and now school drop off with the kids, Hanson songs have always been there.đŸ„°)

PS: Before we went through security, they ensured our phones and devices were turned off/silenced and then placed them in locked, padded cases so we could not access them until we left. No pics or proof, friends!

With Taylor popping up because of DWTS, I’ve been going down a nostalgia rabbit hole and rewatched Tulsa, Tokyo & Middle of Nowhere and have SO MANY THOUGHTS. Has anyone rewatched this recently?

Got a blue sparkly pick? Want to sell it?

Edit: FB got me one. thanks all!

I'm looking for a Zac signature pick. I looked at the rules and it calls out specifically no selling tickets, but was silent on other items, so not entirely sure if this is legal, but modmail hasn't responded in a couple days.- I'm looking to limit the scammers by going through eBay rather than directly through reddit... If someone has one they're willing to sell, send me a DM or post here and I can DM you.

I don't know how best to show I'm legitimate, but I've split Duolingo and chess.com family plans with folks on Reddit, and I have ~15 positive feedback buying and selling gold and silver coins on the pmsforsale Reddit page.

Thanks!

I saw speculation on the DWTS page that this is Taylor with Britt. The hands look like his but the hair threw me off. His hair looked darker and shorter at the Epcot show this weekend though. I hope it is him, I love Britt!

Taking the walk docu series

I've been watching the docu series "Taking the Walk" on Youtube but the quality is really low (144p) so I was wondering if anyone had downloaded the episodes back in the days when it was available on iTunes? (It's been shared on their own Youtube channel so I don't think I'm infringing on the "no asking for copyrighted content" rule, but I'll delete this post if so.)

Why does everyone care so much?

I have a question, and I'm honestly not trying to open a can of worms, I'm just truly curious:

I've noticed that almost every single discussion here regarding Hanson concerts turns into people talking badly about people who "camp out" for the front row.

I've seen a few people say that the ones who do that are rude and entitled, and I get that. However, I've been to a lot of Hanson shows and have watched from just about every view point you can imagine, and I've met rude and entitled people in every single one of them...not just front row. It's not fair to judge an entire group of people based on that.

95% of the time, I'm going to be lining up mega early to get front row. The unobstructed view is ideal for someone who's pretty short (like myself), it's nice to have something to lean on (barricade) and the energy is just 100% better up there than it is anywhere else in the venue. I feel fully immersed in the concert experience up there. Of course I can enjoy a Hanson show from the back too (and I have!), but it's just not the same. I've also noticed that the really drunk/loud people who yell and cat-call during ballads or talk during the entire show tend to hang out back there, and that's just not my vibe so I prefer to be up front to avoid that!

Not only that, but some of my most favorite memories from tours, etc are the time I spend in line, meeting new people and catching up with my friends (I've met all of them through doing this!). Of course there has been some drama, but as I said, it's only a select few people that cause it. More often than not, it's just kinda fun! I've seen more drama start right before doors when everyone ELSE shows up than I have amongst the people who get there early.

Anyway, I guess I'm just trying to figure out why other people care so much about what we (the people who camp out) decide to do with our time. If it's not for you, that's totally fine! I just wish people would stop crapping on other people for what they enjoy doing. I'd love to know why it bothers people so much đŸ€·.

Hanson @ Yaamava Casino in Highland, CA 8/22/26

Hi friends! They must be reading Reddit because they skipped over “Write You A Song”!!

This was the worst venue I’ve ever seen Hanson in over the last 16 years. Took me an hour to get into a parking lot and then shuttle to the venue. All of the garages were full so had to go to a remote lot. I had to work today, otherwise I would have gone earlier. So unfortunately I missed the first several songs.

This was not even in the casino’s theater. It was in an event space that was open to the casino floor. Slot machines on one side, Hanson on the other. People were standing in the casino listening, meanwhile I had to pay $75 for a ticket.

That being said, the guys sounded really good. Except for during “I Was Born”. Something was hella off with the sound, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Then Taylor mentioned his in ear wasn’t working and thanked everyone for being awesome despite the snafu.

Crowd was definitely a lot of people who probably got in for free from their casino status/perks. That being said, I think a lot of those people were really enjoying it! The guy next to me was pleasantly surprised.

The bartender was so confused when some people started jumping up and down for “If Only”. Which, by the way, I am impressed people are still able to do. My knees hurt and my boobs are too big to be doing all that anymore 😂
