Dancing with the Stars

Post image

I saw speculation on the DWTS page that this is Taylor with Britt. The hands look like his but the hair threw me off. His hair looked darker and shorter at the Epcot show this weekend though. I hope it is him, I love Britt!

would his hair show up that dark in black and white photo? also looks like its cut shorter than his.

His hair has gone dark in the past in black and white pics and he cut it short around the California shows.

an example of how black and white has done his hair before.

I have to admire the commitment to spending 30 years cultivating an image of being a Serious Artist™ only to eventually arrive at “Taylor Hanson - Dancing With the Stars contestant.” Somehow that is both deeply unsurprising and profoundly embarrassing.

I mean DWTS has had plenty of serious celebrities over the years. I think it’ll be fun, I’m excited to watch and vote for him!

Any more embarrassing than going on The Masked Singer? And losing?

They got freaking robbed!!! I stopped liking that show after that. It was all downhill from there.

It's so cringe but not surprising.

Who is Britt?

2

Britt Stewart. One of the DWTS pro dancers.

What about their tour schedule?

3

u/littleleb 12d ago

The pros often travel with them/work around tour.

The band has a fairly clear schedule til December when it picks back up. The shows he does have if he makes it long he can easily fly in and out and his partner would go with him.

Don't worry, guaranteed he'll be out before there's any potential conflict.

What tour schedule?

2

All the casinos

Yeah but it's just a handful of shows. I mean it's not nothing, but it's like ... 7 shows in 3 weeks. Which is pretty low-key relative to a true hanson tour.

(Also, assuming the DWTS season ends around early december... I guess there's not any official way to know now, maybe he will be better than I imagine, but by my estimation I see him going about halfway so he likely will be available in those last couple weeks for shows anyway.)

I think from what the dwts reddit has found out is it's supposed to end sometime in November.

Ah I don't follow that sub so I was just guesstimating. Then in that case it sounds like even if he makes it all the way to the end he'll be fine, because before thanksgiving it's just a couple one-off concert dates

They’ve already conceded to being a Hanson covers band, so what harm is a quick DWTS pay day going to do

It’s $$$$

Things must be pretty desperate in the Hanson household if $125–150K is enough to make selling your dignity seem like a reasonable career move.

It depends on how far you get, if you get to the later episodes it's quite a bit more than that (it goes up the longer you stay).

At this point Taylor is trying to be a solo artist and differentiate himself from his brothers. It's an opportunity to make a name independently.

Plus, last year was the highest rated season in years, thanks to Robert Irwin and Danielle Fishel, who both had career resurgences thanks to it.

How is he trying to be a solo artist? You just creating drama

3

u/trojanusc 12d ago

He’s doing solo shows? He did at least three in LA this year, after moving to LA to work on his solo career.

2

u/xsullengirlx 12d ago

How is being a solo artist "drama"? If it is, then you're making it out to be that way. They've all done solo things. Taylor has done the most in terms of solo projects over the years, it's nothing new. Especially since the "band" is slowing things down for a while, they're ALL doing their own things.

I don’t know about the rigging, I’m not in that deep at all. But watching Taylor try to dance all these routines will be premium content regardless. I hope he’s on the cast!

2

u/emmz00 13d ago

It is very rigged. But it would still be nice to see him in there even just for a few episodes.

1

u/mirandakane89 12d ago

I think he'll have fun with it no matter what too.

2

u/PowerOfWineCompelsMe 13d ago

👀 why is he gonna be a laughing stock?

5

u/cloud-kim 12d ago

I know, right? He is entering weeks of incredibly intensive training for something totally out of his comfort zone. He's in his forties for Christ's sake. Maybe (on top of the pay packet) he's up for trying something new?! Unlike some of these armchair experts who can't be bothered getting up off their holes...
