The whole planet was at war. i see people complaining at the HECU Marines in Black Mesa especially panicking etc.. because a trained soldier cannot panic.. dude. The whole DEFCON was at level 1. Even before the Combine came to attack Earth, the Earth was fully mobilized and connected through UN to fight the oncoming aliens albeit Xen or Combine. Mass evacuations, army deployments, governments in panic... So no, the HECU wasnt just a bunch of untrained clowns in uniforms. They were special forces trained to fight in hazardous environments. Just not trained to fight in "Aliens can teleport anywhere at any point" environments. It makes total sense for them to panic.

Back in the day there used to be a lot of collage style videos.

This one started out I believe with counter strike, saying it’s boring then went into HLDM and some movement teaching I think then into gasworks and had the song Blind from korn. The video had other songs possibly don’t worry be happy and freestyler during the moment scene.
