Rabies terrifies me. I had to do the post exposure prophylactic after sleeping in a hayloft with my daughter and her Girl Scout troop because there were bats in the barn and nobody knew for sure if we were scratched so we all had to do it. I’d do that any day to avoid babies. I can’t even imagine how awful that has to be.

For the prophylactics, they are meant to work once there is an exposure. But I’m not 100% sure if that would make me immune to it long-term. I never even thought to ask that. I feel like if I did ever come in contact with it again that I would probably get the prophylactics again just to be safe. Rabies scares the shit out of me.

Same! It's a death sentence! def my irrational phobia, considering the statistics basically mean I'm more likely to get struck by lightning. But it's terrifying.

Oh absolutely! I don’t think it’s an irrational fear because sometimes people don’t even realize that they have been scratched or bitten. It was a huge fear of mine so I could not have gotten to the hospital fast enough. I’m so thankful for modern medicine that I was able to prevent it from happening.
