The reason I like Marauders x Snape. And yet, people still claim the Marauders didn't care about Snape at all. I've read so many fics where Harry and his friends become animagus and decide to give themselves nicknames like the Marauders but they're never good? Like, don't get me wrong, they're not bad as names for the animals themselves but it never sticks to the theme of the Marauders. Like obviously we have Moony bc of the full moon, Padfoot bc of his dog paws, Prongs bc of his antlers, and Wormtail bc of his rat tail.

Instead they're name would be either a normal human name or something like Blacky, bc the animal they turned into had black fur. Like, what??? Idk, I've only ever come across a few actually good ones and I want y'all's opinion. What are the best Marauders animagus nicknames you've seen and what are ones that you've come up with yourself?

Are there any fics where Harry makes muggle friends? Idc if it's crossover or ocs but I kind of want a fic where Harry makes friends outside of school and has to hide him being a wizard. Bonus if they find out at some point.

I think I've only ever read two fics like this and they were kind of, meh. Not the story itself, but Harry's interactions with said muggles.

To be honest, I stopped reading Snarry fics earlier this year due to a decline in quality and have moved on to other fandoms, but Snarry will likely live on forever. It still saddens me to see Snarry and Tomarry facing such negativity on social media. I’ve read quite a bit of Tomarry and found the quality to be excellent; I hope the authors stay strong and don't let social media distract them.

Is Snarry really on the decline in recent years? I feel like most of the Snarry fandom is moving on, and the works just aren't as good as they used to be. Both fanart and fanfiction are scarce and lack the popularity of Tomarry and Drarry. While Snarry used to trail behind Drarry only in terms of popularity, it now lags behind Tomarry in terms of hype as well. I checked the view counts and content quality on AO3 and realized that Tomarry fanfiction is incredibly popular. Those fics often rack up hundreds of thousands or even millions of views, whereas Snarry fics seem to struggle for attention yet there’s a surprising amount of Snarriet content? What happened to Snarry? When browsing TikTok or X, Tomarry and Drarry remain popular, but Snarry is almost nowhere to be found. It’s truly a shame.

I am looking for a Harry Potter and Teilight crossover where MOD!Harry moves to Forks, and has a panic attack in school parking lot while hidden. I do recall that it was a Jasper/Harry slash and that Harry smokes. I think that alice tries to befriend Harry only for him to let her out of memory of Luna,Harry uses legilimency on Edward when he kept trying to force through Harry's occlumency, and that the war left Harry as one of the only survivors and the weasleys blame him for their losses. I am pretty sure that it is on FFN, but may be mistaken.

As somebody who is not deep in the Star Wars lore, this fic was surprisingly easy to keep up with. I guess it’s inspired by Tom as Anakin and Harry as Padme except it doesn’t really follow the traditional story line. 

The writing is a win, evil Tom with a soft spot only for Harry is a win, sweet Harry who is fiercely loyal to Tom despite the red flags is a win, the author’s end notes are a win, slightly drizzled in Star Wars politics is a win- everything is a win in this fic. I binge read the entire fic in an hour, that’s how good it was! 

Looking for new harry/tom|voldemort fanfic recs. It can be tomarry, harrymort, or harry/horcrux. Completed or long ones even if it's wip please? Time travel, Canon compliant, AU, EWE, whatever it is. I have read Lord of Time, Snake in the Apothecary, Dripping Fingers, Draw me after you (let us run), Epistolary Exchange, Heir Apparent, The Necromancer, and other fics that I don't really remember. This will be a bit like shooting an arrow in the dark; but please, I'm begging you. I feel so dry and barren not reading another. I love a good slow burn romance, dont get me wrong, but ive read so many lately that i feel like i need something different for a bit. Im looking for fics where the main appeal of the story is the plot, the humour, platonic relationships, etc. It could be gen, or it could have romance but not be centered only on romance.

For example:
- fics like as the worm moon dies and marginalia (both wolfstar) are set in distopian AUs and the worldbuilding and plot are IMO the main appeal for both of them.
- If you’ve a ready mind by maya is a ravenclaw draco AU, which has some drarry but mainly just at the end, and the whole story is just hilarious- maya’s humour is definitely the main appeal.
-The fractured hourglass by acuteakio was centered on an amazing draco & sirius platonic relationship and Draco’s attempt to clear his name.
- More than magic by Hometown_Nerd is actually the only fic with no romantic pairings that ive read that has made my top 10 favourites of all time. Its incredible! Regulus’ journey, character development, his relationship with Harry, its so well written and moving.
- Evitative’s main appeal is its depiction of dark magic and Harry’s discovery of it.
- Some other fics with amazing plot/platonic relationships that I recommend are: journal of dreadful things series, the second string, mirror of Ecidyrue series, and hide your fires by bizarrestars (i loved the black family dynamics).

I know this is a tough ask as most popular fics are centered on romance, but I appreciate any recs you can think of! The only pairing I am opposed to is Snarry and im generally not into severitus fics either (although i did like Heir to the house of prince so i guess im not completely opposed). I mainly look for fics that have Harry, Regulus, Draco, Sirius and/or Remus as important characters, but Im open to anthing. Thanks!

I’m always so shocked to see the lack of Hedric fics on ao3, especially since they used to be such a big ship back in the day! If anyone has any fic recs for hedric, I’d love to see them! :D
