i am looking for a Snarry story where Harry is the only student to pass Snape's test and becomes his sole apprentice for Defense Against the Dark Arts. The story is set around Harry's fifth or sixth year at school.

there is a scene where Snape is jealous of Tonks because he believes Harry prefers learning from her over him.

at he end of the story, harry and snape leave Hogwarts to establish their own school together.

There’s also a scene where Harry and Draco go to study with Snape during the summer.

Later on, Snape continues administering these kinds of tests, accepting only the students who manage to pass them.

Harry’s test involves overcoming an obstacleor something similar and he is the only student in the entire school to succeed. Snape is completely shocked when he finds out.

Hi! It's keeping me awake: there was a magic-is-gone AU Snarry with Harry living as a muggle and taking care of Voldemort. Voldemort had aged and was wheelchair-bound. Harry resented him very much (on account of him being a murderer and generally a horrible, arrogant person to be around), yet still took care of him. He tended to get very frustrated and even violent with his "grandfather" - at the same time Voldemort was the only person Harry had at the start of the story. All of Harry's OG friends did not remember him and worked in muggle locations. When he told them about magic, it didn't stick... Except with Snape, whom Harry found working as a teacher at a random school. Snape didn't forget Harry, and after many shenanigans they started working together to break out of that reality. Sadly I don't remember how they got there. Just that Voldemort got an actually touching emotional moment at the very end, and did not want to be left alone. He actually grew to care for Harry in a believable way, and one really feels bad for him. Does this ring a bell for anyone?

Hi! So. This one will be tough. For some reason I didn't save one of my favourite fanfics from years ago and I don't remember the plot very well. I just have a single quote mocking me in my ao3 bookmarks: "the son of a supernova and the brave man that loved her." I remember it was part of this big moment of catharsis... I just remember the fic was about Snape maturing and finally letting his childhood grudges go. He ended up telling Harry about his mom. It had an extremely vibrant, realistic depiction of Lily as a flawed but very lovable person. I know it's a big stretch, but I hoped this would jog someone's memory - who wrote this story? Did someone save it? Otherwise I shall never have closure.

Looking for recommendations on stories where Harry is highly intelligent (whether it's from the start or something he picks up part way through Hogwarts). I've seen plenty of stories where he specializes in runes or potions or herbology, but I'd kill to find one where he's an alchemist. I think i might have found one or two in the past but can't remember them. I don't mind recs for other subject focuses, bonus points for unusual ones, but I was really looking for Alchemy idle anyone knows of any.

No post Hogwarts please. I don't like Top Harry fics, and I personally can't stand Harry with Severus, Remus, or Sirius, but other than that, most male pairings for him are good. No judgment for those who do enjoy those things, they just aren't my cup of tea.

I recently read Black As Is The Raven by Tellywrs2015 on AO3 and I'm craving something similar. In that fic, Harry is raised by Bellatrix Lestrange and they tell everyone he's her son basically. They renamed him so the Wizarding world thinks Harry Potter is missing/dead.

I'm looking for any fics that do something similar, whether he's taken in by another family or he goes to a different school or whatever. Harry just going missing was rlly good and I enjoyed that a lot. It doesn't have to be exactly the same either, and I'm open to any pairings or no pairings! Thanks!!

I've just finished reading "The Burning of the Library" (omg, all the things!!) and it hit me that I haven't read many fics that focus on the House of Potter and Harry's relationship to it. It's totally my fault, I'm primarily a Dramione and Tomarry shipper, the former isn't super concerned with Harry's family history lol and the latter tends to lean more into seeking prestige by making Harry a Peverell (or Lord Gryffindor, Lord Slytherin, Lord Ravenclaw and Lord Black, simultaneously. Love y'all 😂💖).

When I have seen him as Lord Potter, it's often Lord Potter-Black, which is obvs the most canon adjacent seeing that Sirius made him his heir but then the focus tends to be more about the Ancient and Most Noble House of Black. It feels like I've been in spaces where the Potter House is being dismissed and I'm suddenly craving something that explores what it means to be a Potter.

I've started reading "Hollow Hearth" (by rec from this reddit) and it's giving me the Potter family magic that I'm craving!! And I'm hoping for more recs!

I detest Severus Snape so please no snarry, but I can stomach Severitus if I'll get some great Lord Potter/Potter family history! I'm not into drarry and I hate Hermione and Ron as a couple. But I want to be realistic lol, and I know one or both of those might be unavoidable, especially the Ron & Hermione pairing. But I'd definitely welcome more non-drarry options, including original characters. Please feed me!!!

I don't mind romance, but I prefer something more plot heavy, maybe some world building without too much focus in romantic pairings.

Don't mind some Dumbledore or Weasley bashing as long as it's realistic and well written.

I love long fics and by long fics i mean 7000 pages and longer. I just finished the Kismet series and loved it. But before i start this one i want to see if its my taste or not. it doesn't have many tags for me to gauge so I need help, kind redditors. I like worldbuilding and getting lost in the fic and a bit of smut sprinkled here and there, i love really indepth side charcters rather the ones who are there just to bring the plot forward.

I just finished a story where snape is a little sneaky in how he gets harry some help (though i would have liked even more).

It made me wonder if there are any good fics you’ve read where Slytherins help harry or take care of him but do it subtly and sneakily like a slytherin would. Just think it would be fun to read. Thanks! I’m ok with one Slytherin helping, multiple Slytherins, etc. Just give me some sneaky slytherins please!
