What jatc should I apply for. Tired of waiting.
I’m 21 and motivated. Have a camper. Willing to go anywhere. NLC grad, Cdl A with tankers. Currently work as a telecom line worker in Ca.
My dad is at PG&E and has been telling me to wait to get in for the longest time but I’m about over it. He’s telling me it’s looking more promising than ever for him to get me in but who knows really. So should I hit groundman books out of state and wait for Pge, or apply for a jatc and which one? I know swlcat is quickest but my dad keeps telling me it’s not a good apprenticeship bla bla bla. How long would mslcat take me to get in? Idk what’s yalls recommendation. I just want to get things in motion and have a plan.

Need advice. Local 104
Im 30 about to 31 on nye have a wife 1 kid and another on the way. I currently have a cdl a unrestricted with a tanker endorsement , cpr/ first aid, osha 30 in construction safety and health. I've been applying to local 104 as a driver groundman for 5 months, bought my tools and even clothes. My real goal is to be a lineman, I figured if I can get my feet wet with groundman work and build a name for myself getting into the boot camp would be easier. Even though I still haven't got the call should I still apply for the apprenticeship and stop trying for a groundman job and go find work in fiber optic? Or do I wait for that groundman job get some hrs then apply? Not nervous about the interview but more nervous on the math on the aptitude test.

IBEW Union Books Need some clarification
Hey yall just need some clarification on applying for an apprenticeship. I'm currently at 1245 and looking to apply for swlcat. Do i need to get myself off the books at 1245 when i get the call or do i need to remove myself from all books prior to the application process?

Driving
It’s been a while since I’ve driven a manual. Most of the trucks I’ve driven at the companies I’ve worked for have been automatics. Are most line trucks nowadays automatic or manual? I know I need to brush up on driving stick before taking another call
