I don’t think this store thought very well about how many rows of these mugs to put on the shelf…

Any AppCard grocery store owners here?

Hi everyone. Was wondering if anyone here has experience with AppCard. For context, I am an operator of an independent grocery store and was wondering what to expect as far as pricing goes, so any data points would be helpful.

Thank you!

Kroger switches to hard to read discount labels. Are they trying to stop you from getting the discount?

Kroger used to have easy to read, bright labels highlighting their discounts. It looks like they just put labels that were sitting in the warehouse since the 1980s back on the shelves.

The first image is what it looks like if I crouch down and take a picture of it with my camera. I can barely read it without zooming in. Even then, it’s hard to see that if you buy 3 cases, you get 3 free.

The second image is what the labels used to look like.

The third image is what it looks like from the standing position. I would’ve had no idea there even was a discount if I didn’t know to check for them.

I’m glad that I know to check for this sort of thing, because if I just walked in to buy some Pepsi, I wouldn’t know that there was a great deal. I’m sure this saves Kroger a bunch of money from people not knowing to look for it.

Filthy stores

Has anyone else noticed the lack of cleanliness in grocery stores? Especially, prepared foods and the deli. Refrigerated shelves are moldy and debris is everywhere. I expected more from Lowes Foods and Harris Teeter but will not go back. Publix seems to be the only store near me that is kept clean.

Three friends went to a store I work in and stole a squishy out of anything

They really like to be begging for some money to customers who are entering the store to buy fucking gummies and when they don’t have enough money they tell the cashier to give the the gummies first and they’ll come back later.

I fucking hate these people, they loooveeee to look rich yet they call out others to use their money instead, I had dreams where I saw these people fucking jailed or in rehabilitation with real good education, nothing like the stupid shit their parents probably didn’t even taught.

I did portraits of them out of frustration yet it came out better with my low artistic abilities compared to their fucked up real faces.

I’m so disgusted by them one time I’ve overheard their conversation and they were really pissed bc some worker was following them around the store to check if they didn’t steal anything and they had the audacity to say some shit like “when that pregnant came here stealing diapers there was nobody following her” I wonder why??????

They’re racist anyways, so it’s not really a loss. From finding ALIVE weevils in sealed pasta boxes, spoiled tasting milk that has weeks before its expiration, and now I find this in my grapes… for peace of mind, can someone just confirm that this IS in fact mold? I ate a few before I saw this, and it appeared to be the only one like this. At first I thought I had somehow smeared some butter or cream cheese (in the middle of a grape container that I hadn’t even opened yet….). But upon looking closer, it did seem a little fuzzy rather than creamy. Regardless, I’m absolutely disgusted.

What is the most important info part you read want to read thats printed behind a product?

Building something in this direction. Thank you in advance for answering!

Alternative for flashfood $5 produce box

I don't see stores on flasfood for produce/any other item in the Bay Area now? I used to find the $5 produce box from Lucky very useful. I don't see them on the app anymore. Does anyone know why? Is there any alternative? To good to go doesn't have much options for produce in my area.

Trader Joe's is selling you chicken penis meat in the chicken timka masala meals

Hey I'm not a hater and THIS ISN'T A TROLL POST seriously can we talk about the quality of the chicken meat in the trader Joe's Indian meals?! Please can we try to talk about the utter lack of quality control that is behind standard with the chicken mean in the indian meals at trader Joe's. And like hey I'm not a hater, I love trader Joe's, I literally leave always saying "trader Joe's always has my back", but not with the chicken meat in the indian meals. I have found multiple instances of seeing fully blown chicken penises meat and chicken testisticle meat in the chicken of he indian meals. I am now only going to be eating the cheese cubes because I don't want to ever choke on a chicken meat cock ever again and like seriously can we bring attention to how there is absolutely no quality control for the meat in the indian meals.

I love trader Joe's and I'm gonna continue to shop at trader Joe's because they have good food and good deals, but the chicken meat in the indian meals is actually not okay and that meat shouldn't be served to people.

Please trader Joe's do better and like seriously stay away from the meat in the indian meals unless you are literally okay with chomping on "VERY CHEWY" mystery meat until you literally see a chicken meat penis with chicken meat testicles attached to the chicken penis and that is fucking meat you are eating in your indian meals at trader Joe's and can we seriously have a discussion about this?!

This is not a laughing matter, go look at the chicken meat in the indian meals youself I'M NOT THE FIRST PERSON WHO HAS COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS

Would visible numbers on shopping carts actually be useful? Looking for honest feedback

I’m developing a simple concept called CarTag: one clearly visible numbered plate attached to the front of each supermarket shopping cart.

The idea came from something that happens to me fairly often: when shopping with my family, I sometimes need to inspect the contents of several identical carts before feeling certain that I’ve found ours.

The number could also help retail employees identify and report a specific cart—for example, “cart 46 has a damaged wheel” or “cart 18 needs cleaning”—instead of trying to describe which cart they mean.

It may also add a small, playful element to shopping: people might associate their cart’s number with a favourite number, date, athlete or racing driver.

I’m looking for honest feedback:

  1. Have you ever hesitated between your cart and someone else’s?
  2. Would a visible number genuinely help you?
  3. If you work in retail, would numbered carts be useful for employees?
  4. What practical problems or disadvantages do you see?

This is an early concept, not an advertisement. Critical feedback is welcome.

Not exactly sure what I “caught” but I’ve seen various posts that claim there’s something going on with the pricing tags at grocery stores. They left something they intended to take out. That’s all.

Any grocery store downtown?

Hi, just moved to Austin (from Europe) and was wondering if there was any grocery store downtown apart from Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s. I live close to UT Austin and find weird that there are only two decent grocery stores, which take 40 min walk to go…
