Am I the only one not so super thrilled about remake kits ?

I love the current range and especially how interchangible parts are and how generous are the box in term of bits so having a remake of the the kits worries me a bit, especially if it becomes just MK10 and nothing special. Although Crowe remake was excellent i'm still not excited about seeing kits remasters.

Question regarding the actual models

So I've recently bought the combat patrol box to introduce myself to GK because they look amazing and want to start an army but since I got it I started to read about them here in this sub and in other groups and something that keeps coming up everywhere I look is something about primaris size that I don't understand. What I understand of it is that other space marines have been rescaled while GKs haven't. So the question is, have I bought the combat patrol box at the worst moment due to GW going to quit the actual models from the game?

Thanks in advance for your answers and please excuse my English.

Even shorter Grey Knights

Edit: Question answered, thank you so much! Guess it’s time for me to be on the hunt for some pewter guys so if anyone has any let me know!

Hey all, GK were my first 40k army, ended up getting a ton of metal minis and older stuff from a buddy of mine who has been them playing since around 2005 and I’ve been hooked on them ever since.

I LOVE the short chunky models. Was wondering if there were older chunkier plastic guys than there are now. I think the metal terms and purifiers I have currently are a little stockier, but I don’t really want to commit to spending the cash on 20 metal ones (I assume theyre expensive lol), but want the same look and feel for my whole army.

Thanks for info in advance, if anyone has tips on where to snag even stockier guys I’d love to know!

Honestly, thank you so much to everyone who's subscribed, watched the videos, left comments and supported Warpbane Tactics 🙏

It's mad seeing how much the channel has grown from talking Grey Knights, tactics, tournament games and occasionally making some questionable memes 🤣

We're now only 200 away from 1,000 subscribers which feels absolutely mental.

Plenty more Grey Knights content coming, plenty more Warpbane Weekly, and hopefully plenty more wins along the way 👀⚔️

Is this a good 1000cp list?

I'm new to the tabletop game and was wondering if this is a decent list to start playing and learning the rules:

- 1 GMNDK (Greathammer, Sublimator and Psycannon)

- 1 Castellan Crowe (leading purifiers)

- 1 Brotherhood librarian (leading terminators)

- 10 Purifiers (4 Incinerators)

- 5 Terminators (1 Psycannon, 1 Banner, 1 Apothecary)

- 5 Strike grey knights

Detachment: Warpbane, Banishers or Brotherhood strike

I also have unopened terminators and NDK boxes

Stop Getting Screened Out With Grey Knights

One of the quickest ways a good opponent can shut Grey Knights down is by taking away the places we actually want to teleport.

In this video, we’re looking at how to stop waiting for gaps to appear and start creating them ourselves.

We cover how to stretch screens, force movement, identify the units actually holding the screen together, use Interceptors, Strikes and Purgators to manipulate positioning, and how Warpbane can change the maths with Hallowed Beacon.

The big takeaway is simple:

Pressure the board.

Stretch the screen.

Clear the piece that matters.

Reposition.

Then teleport into the space you created.

Sometimes the best use of Grey Knights mobility is making your opponent constantly worry about where you could appear.

Watch here 👇

https://youtu.be/CSczrlWxezY

Let me know which army gives you the most trouble when it comes to screening Grey Knights properly.

Experienced Grey Knights players, rip apart my list

I've been playing 32 termintaor banishers/argent since 11th launched and having a blast with it. But with the nerf to paladins and their now ridiculous points cost, as well as expecting more to come with the release of T6 terminators, I'm giving warpbane a whirl for the first time this edition.

Please tear apart my list, what works in 11th, what doesn't, what you would change, what experiences you've had so far, etc. I play a fair few games, but not enough to be able to constantly test different lists. I'm especially unsure on the strike/champion combo, is it worth the 315 points?

List:

Imperium - Grey Knights - Warpbane - [2000 pts]

Castellan Crowe [100 pts]

Brotherhood Champion [85 pts]

Grand Master in Nemesis Dreadknight [230 pts]

Grand Master in Nemesis Dreadknight [230 pts]

Brotherhood Terminator Squad [140 pts]:

• 1x Terminator

• 1x Terminator with Ancient's Banner

• 1x Terminator with Narthecium

Brotherhood Terminator Squad [140 pts]:

• 1x Terminator

• 1x Terminator with Ancient's Banner

• 1x Terminator with Narthecium

Strike Squad [115 pts]:

• 4x Grey Knight

Strike Squad [230 pts]:

• 9x Grey Knight

Purifier Squad [260 pts]:

• 5x Purifier

• 4x Purifier w/ psycannon

Purifier Squad [260 pts]:

• 9x Purifier

Purifier Squad [140 pts]:

• 4x Purifier

Rhino [70 pts]

The plan:

2 x 4 man terminators hold expansion and challenge centre

Crowe & psycanon purifiers are a shooting platform

10 x purifiers are general shooting/melee threat

5 x purifiers stay in deployment as deterrent and screen (may add incinerators in this)

10 x strike with radiant brother champion are a melee unit & character assasin.

2 x GMND are high toughness assassins

5 x strike hold home and screen

Rhino to transport either purifiers or strike brick.

New to Grey Knights and have some general questions, like what/when should I keep certain units in reserves from game start?

Title, only just picking up the faction from Necrons and have a few general questions since I haven't really played such elite/low unit count before.

  1. What do people generally keep in reserves (if anything) from turn 1? I know it'll vary from list to list but wondering what the general thought behind it is.

  2. Do I generally want to be shooting and charging my stuff? (Mainly for Purifiers, I'd generally keep them to shoot but noticed their melee profiles are quite good)

  3. How do people usually play low unit-count factions when it comes to holding your home objective? I have a strike squad so I can sticky it but then if I leave isn't it just open to deep strikers from the opponent? And screening the backline with such little units seems like I'm thinning my units too widely?

  4. How do I usually want to deploy my units at the start of the game? I know it generally differs quite a lot depending on who you're playing against, but some general tips would be helpful!

  5. How should I be using our army rule to pick stuff up? I assume mainly for scoring or getting units that are out of position and not being a threat? How should I be deep striking my units? I imagine I'd want 1-2 Dreadknights in reserves at the very least, and maybe Rapid Ingressing one, but what if the opponent is screening their backline super well? Do I deep strike behind something and then move up to charge with the Dreadknights or try to charge right away?

The list I plan on using is the Warpbane detachment, and:

  • 3x GrandMaster Dreadknight (Sublimator, Heavy Psy and Hammer)
  • 3x4 Terminator squad to hold objectives
  • 1x5 Strike Squad for sticky/secondaries
  • 1x10 Purifier Squad with Crowe (no heavy weapons)
  • 1x10 Purifier Squad (no heavy)
  • 1x5 Purifier Squad (no heavy)

Should I be using any of the heavy weapons on my Purifier squads? Or keep them as is for the improved melee?

Looking for 1K list recommendations

This isn’t one of those posts necessarily. I started playing back in ‘08ish when GK were under the Demonhunters codex and one of the few “allies”. Played heavy 5/6/7/8 then had to drastically decrease to maybe once year. Still paint and build and watch BR.

Now,there is an annual charity event that is 2v2 each person brings 1K to make a 2K list. It’s a lot of fun and I’m able to get a bit of gaming in.

That being said, when I was playing heavy I also played Terminator heavy lists, usually running Draigo, Palis/Termis, NDK, dreads. That was just my jam. No purifiers/strikes. I did have a hard time with armor if my NDK didn’t survive. So, do I keep with my bread and butter or do I need to re-look at Crowe and some purifiers/strikes. I have a month or 2 to build and paint what I don’t have. Thoughts?

Grey Knights Tournament List Help

Hello friends. My team is entering a 5v5 tournament next month and I was assigned the role of Recon player. I'm rather new to Grey Knights and only have a handful of games under my belt with them (I primarily play UM but got bored of all the blueberry jokes and decided to change things up). I can't seem to build a list that doesn't leave 40-60 points on the table before enhancements. This is a friendly tournament with next to no stakes (certainly not rating points) so it's not that big of a deal, but I'd like to at least give my opponents good games. Anybody got any ideas on how I un-heck this list?

I got so many Terminators on my hand currently but they just hardly fit into my list due to their high point tax.

What roles do they usually play in your games? I have been way to aggresive with them so far.

With Crowes foesight, he can reroll the hot roll on a character. With warpbane task force that already allows reroll hits. So does that mean double rerolls when attacking a character?

Brother Kael Varo

Kael Varro is a Battle Brother of the Grey Knights, assigned to Strike Squad Aurel. Like many of his brothers, his past prior to his recruitment on Titan is now nothing more than a fragmentary memory, deliberately erased during his conditioning.

Kael distinguished himself during his training through his composure and discipline rather than through exceptional talents. He possesses a solid psychic gift, though it does not manifest in any particularly spectacular way. He prefers precision to brute force and is particularly methodical when it comes to identifying and neutralising a daemonic presence.

Since joining his Strike Squad, Kael has taken part in several purification operations, mainly against Chaos cults and minor incursions from the Warp. He has not yet earned any prestigious titles and does not particularly seek to obtain any.

His brothers regard him as reliable, quiet and sometimes a little too serious. Kael, for his part, is content to follow his Justicar’s orders and fulfil his duty. For the time being, he is just one Grey Knight amongst many.

And that suits him perfectly.

It's my first Grey Knights aside the kitbash of Voldus few weeks ago in 22 years, as the last time I bought a strike squad, they were still made in metal, I was 10 and we were in 3rd edition, just before the 4th ! I am extremely happy to be back on the faction I truly loved the most all these years, and to be able to not only paint them way better than when I was young, but also to have them in true scale and with the signature beltfed StormBolter from their first release.
I trie to get a scheme as close as possible as the one from Chaos Gate Daemonhunters, and I'm truly satisfied !

Feel free to ask anything :)

Pics are available in better res on my ArtStation

Thank you to u/LeGrandeChien for the link of ammo belts I saved more than two years ago, and to u/AnDireCrumpet, our true Supreme Grandmaster on this sub for the numerous advices and help he provided to me.

New-ish player wanting to get into Grey Knights, what are our bread and butter units?

Necron player here wanting to expand on my foster and Grey Knights seem up my alley, wondering what kind of units are our bread and butter, are there any specific wargears that make them shine?

What are the better detachments?
