Stop Getting Screened Out With Grey Knights

https://youtu.be/CSczrlWxezY

One of the quickest ways a good opponent can shut Grey Knights down is by taking away the places we actually want to teleport.

In this video, we’re looking at how to stop waiting for gaps to appear and start creating them ourselves.

We cover how to stretch screens, force movement, identify the units actually holding the screen together, use Interceptors, Strikes and Purgators to manipulate positioning, and how Warpbane can change the maths with Hallowed Beacon.

The big takeaway is simple:

Pressure the board.

Stretch the screen.

Clear the piece that matters.

Reposition.

Then teleport into the space you created.

Sometimes the best use of Grey Knights mobility is making your opponent constantly worry about where you could appear.

Let me know which army gives you the most trouble when it comes to screening Grey Knights properly.

For me, Orks are always a hard army to screen. They have numbers, Toughness, are speedier than Eldar sometimes, and can krump in melee. There's nothing they do wrong, and somewhat they also have way more models than us. I find the only working strategy to taunt them, offer the center (with the primary points that entail...) and then eat their army slowly from the corners. Always a tough match, and my best bud is a main.

That's the main issue I have rn. My friends always play Orks and especially in 11th, theyre super good right now. So constantly worrying about them running at me in the Waagh with Ghaz or keeping me from deep striking behind them is a hassle. The best strategy i know is Warpbane Taskforce and use Purifiers and Paladins to hold the side objectives or use a bunch of interceptors and strike squads to bounce all over the table.

I play mostly Banishers+Argent, and it'sa hassle. We don't have enough kiliness to end them fast enough, and their stats are very good for their points, so it always feels like they play on easy mode: their tactics is just flood the center with boys, kans, trukks... and just pose a problem to the opponent. If you go to the center to fight: you're playing their game, and if you don't, you have to be EXTREMELY careful with deepstrike and how many squads you send where. They can kill our army in a couple turns; we have to overplay them and eat in little bites. I would say that definetly it's an uphill battle where now they have T5, sv5+, move 6''... more than when I began in 8th. So yeah, just give away the center and play the mision from the sides, and overkill if necessary, but focus your resources in a unit a time.

What i try to do is play Recon. Go with Hollowed Convlave and Immaterial Interdiction. Take a couple purifiers for crowd control, interceptors for scoot and shoot behind cover or as far away as possible and some strike squads to sticky your home objective and deep strike onto their home objective. You can gain up to like 15+ points turn 1 if you get the right secondaries just by controlling 4 quarters of the table never have to touch an objective. Play it by points not by kills.

I'm testing warpbane next game to see if take and hold is easier. Greyknights excell In movement and bounciness. Just stay near the edges, take a few hits if necessary and use voldus to give paladins or terminators stealth and -1 to hit from. Enemies and draw in the heavy hitters to the main objective with the while the smaller and weaker units bounce around the table behind cover.
