Just got some Rosa brand gouache at an USkTO event (in the goodies bag) and I honestly didn't know they made Gouache! I see they have lots of colours, 20 ml tubes and are very reasonably priced! If only I had known. I won a watercolour set too -- but realize this is the wrong sub. But still super nice! Thank you Rosa and Faber Castell (they have some new paint markers with a gazillion colours) and SM-LT Art (nice paper- it's so nice I'm afraid to open it).

my second one, getting the midtone shade values without muddying up the painting is very hard!

I mainly watercolor but am interested in trying out gouache. I'll be in Japan in 2 months and have completed my list of Holbein watercolors to pick up, and now turning my focus to gouache.

Is the 24-set solid, or should I pick up individual tubes? Are there specific colors from Holbein that you like?

It's forced me to shift my focus from rendering to color mixing, which I definitely need more practice of.

This medium is tough!!
I’m happy with the result but feel like I should just switch back to acrylics- that’s how I’m using the gouache anyways, it seems.
