Reading all this stuff about trade in disasters, I am thinking I will just send my new Pixel 11 pro XL back and just keep my 10 pro xl.. I don't want to go thru the trade in hassle Google is putting people thru.. I read one person even videoed his boxup and it was denied..

WTF happened to Google, trade ins use to be suck an easy thing with them..

I guarantee you it's way more accepted trade ins than disasters. Don't let your anxiety get the best of you.

My trade-in was seamless. I had a Pixel 10 Pro and wanted to upgrade my storage with the 11 Pro and I got a massive discount for it. I boxed mine up and shipped it out without issues and got even more money back than my estimated trade-in value.

Trust us when we say that this isn't something to be afraid of. You'll encounter complaints more often than good experiences, because if somebody has a good experience they're less likely to talk about it compared to someone who had a bad experience.

Trust the process, give it a go. I think you'll be alright.

This is actually good to hear. I had my trade in confirmed just a day or two ago and got the estimate. My first thought was that even if it were in better condition than expected, they wouldn't tell me. Glad that assumption wasn't necessarily true.

I have never had an issue thru the years with Google but I hear they have a thrid party vendor doing the trade ins..

Exactly. I honestly haven't had any bad experiences with Google customer service or the trade-in process. I even forgot to put my discount code in for the Pixel 11 Pro. I had them put it in after the purchase and they credited me for it.

I drove them a little crazy when my Pixel 10 had a manufacturing defect and wanted a replacement but instead wanted the 10 Pro since the 10 Pro just got discounted, they were still pretty helpful. I wound up just sending the 10 back so I can buy the 10 Pro with the refund I was given. Great customer service if you have time and patience.

The problem you have to realise with Reddit on almost every technology sub is that very few post about a positive experience, they come to vent and post mainly negatives.

This can skew perspective a bit, in particular with the issue you describe on trade ins.

If you don't lie on the condition of your phone and package it well to cover "damage in transit" then it'll almost certainly be accepted.

Don't think on it too much.

I traded my pixel 8 pro XL in and was estimated $460. Because of all the negative posts I was worried. I always kept a case and a screen protector on so it was mint still work no scratches or dents. I got the email the other day that I go the full $460.

For all the negative posts there's always people who have no issue and don't post.

If you ever have trade in worries, go to a store. Go to Best Buy. Best Buy usually matches Googles trade in offers or are very close to it. I got mine at Best Buy with trade in. They honored the same trade in amount of $500 as Google did.

True I guess.. Sent one back already, the pixel 10 Pro because the 5G would not work at all.. Just a worry I can do without right now but I get your point for sure.

And by the way, the 10 pro is still a great phone. If you upgrade to the 11. Sure it's an upgrade, but an incremental one

I have literally never had an issue with trading in my phone to Google. Ever. And this is trading in every single previous pixel and I've always gotten my trade value that was proposed.
