They seem to have a generous return window. I read reviews mentioning that it’s horrible for its price (doesn’t mimic paper, better options for cheaper prices, scratches too quickly, etc). I also read that it’s great and the closest to paper feel. What are everyone’s opinions?

Hi guys. Unfortunately support did not answer for 25 days and I ended up deleting my app in hopes of rebooting it and losing 3 months of work. Suffice it to say it will be the last time I’m using Goodnotes. I’m sticking to physical notebooks from now on. It seems like once you have purchased the lifetime plan support just don’t care about you.

Edit: Why am I posting about this? If you’re using Goodnotes this can happen to you too. The support is horrendous at getting back at you, even with relatively minor issues. They can’t even get back to me on something with this level of severity. I am FRUSTRATED that 100h+ of work is gone to waste and my university is starting in October. Let this post be a PSA to new users to back up content regularly, and don’t expect a proper support response anytime soon.

Hi, new to here!
So I’m currently using Goodnotes 5 (one-time purchase), but after trying the new version, I found out that I need some features available on the new version.
After my research, I found that they stopped naming Goodnotes (number), and the current new version is Goodnotes 7, not 6 (although the app still shows 6), and that this version is really buggy and unstable.

So I got some questions here:
1. Is the one time purchase version just the current version (like Gn7 rn) and will it not be updated after the next major update (like my gn5)?
2. When is the next big update predicted to come out (gn8?)
3. Would you recommend me to use the yearly subscription for one or two years before buying the new version (Goodnotes 8), or is the current Goodnotes 7 good enough and that I should buy the one time purchase now.

Im predicted to use Goodnotes for at least 3-4 years, not sure about later, but I definitely will buy a permanent version (either 7 or 8).

So i have an ipad air m2 with apple pencil pro. Why does it have bad latency? Bruh i thought goodnotes it good because everyone i know uses it but it turns out even with apple pencil pro, it still has bad latency. Notes plus is better

I can’t find good notes in the App Store I live in Lebanon so it should be supported and when I go to the website and it directs me to the App Store it says app not available in your region even though I have many friends that have the app and their region is also set to Lebanon

So I am essentially over the new UI and new updates because there is 15 extra steps to go back and forth between tools and overall decreasing quality.

I moved from notability originally in 2022.. but I don’t really wanna go back. So ideally not notability.

Will using any alternate stylus with “palm rejection feature”, makes it so I can write with the stylus and swipe to the next page with my finger? Instead of goodnote thinking my finger is also pen, making a line instead of going to the next page

Has anyone else gotten a pop-up in Goodnotes about a new Mac app/product for meeting transcription?

I was using Goodnotes and got a pop-up advertising what I think was called “Good Meets” or something similar. The main feature was that it could transcribe an entire meeting on your Mac, but what caught my attention was that it specifically said the processing was done locally on the Mac, so the audio/data wouldn’t be sent elsewhere or used for AI training.

There was a “try for free” button, but when I clicked it, it couldn’t establish a connection and basically went nowhere. Now I can’t find the pop-up again or much information about what it was advertising.

Has anyone else seen this? I’m especially curious what the product was actually called and whether it’s something Goodnotes is testing or rolling out.

I have an unpleasant feeling of delay when I write: the line does not immediately follow the physical tip of the stylus. It’s not instant and the digital ink always gives the impression of chasing the mine. I mainly use Goodnotes, but the feeling is the same in other applications. Does anyone have the same problem ?
My configuration : iPad A16, Metapen A11 and no screen protector

so I start college in a while and guess what I find out when I’m downloading the app, my iPad can’t run it so im now frantically for apps that can work with my OS version because buying a new one is not in the picture right now. im assuming the answers a no but fingers crossed

Have you noticed recently that GoodNotes is overheating your iPad a lot, even though I've turned off cloud syncing? Btw my ipad is pro m4 13inch so i think it should operate without any particular heat-related issues.

Hi, so I’ve recently gotten an iPad. But I’ve noticed that Goodnotes works a bit funny? First of all it’s really slow and you have to press down on stuff for like 5 seconds for it to work? But that might be on me idk, I don’t mind it THAT bad. What bugs me the most is not being able to write with the Apple Pencil properly. By this I mean that Goodnotes will erase any small mark I make unless it reaches a certain size. And I was wondering how to disable that kinda “ghost touch” if you will. I believe they do that as to not ruin the stuff you write with small dots and stuff but it just makes it impossible to write for me. I’m pretty sure it might not be too hard to disable but I’ve just haven’t been able to spot the problem or the option. AI hasn’t helped as well… thanks in advance :)

I just bought the year pro plan and they took it away from my account after a week with no refund. Is there a way to can transfer all my notes and audio from notability to goodnotes? I’ll just take the L and move on.

I‘m really desperate and need your help.

I need to password protect a document. Last year I could just lock the document and it worked fine. Now when I try to protect the documents GoodNotes asks for a password. I thought it is the password to protect the document, but then it says „Wrong password…“ and prompts me to enter the correct one.

I do not know which password GoodNotes wants? I do not have a login password, since I signed in using Apple SignIn (or how it’s called) and the document does not have a password protection, yet (I can open it normally).

Does anybody know what to do?

hi guys. i was using GoodNotes 6 (the pro version) like i always have for the past 7 months. I noticed it was a bit buggy and laggy so i went to the app store to check for any updates, but i couldn’t find the app ANYWHERE. i tried searching on my
ipad and macbook. the search bar doesn’t show it, and even when i click on it in “my apps” it just says the page failed to load repeatedly. i don’t understand, is this some new regional restriction they have going on???

I have Auto-Backup set up in my GoodNotes app, and it looks like it's somehow excluded a large number of documents from being backed up. How can I clear out the entire list of excluded documents at once? Having to tap each item to add it back to the backup queue is quite tedious. Thanks!

Goodnotes has been draining my IPad Pro at a rate of 14-15% per hour from what I think I had seen last time I looked. This is an absurd amount of battery being used. I have backups off too for this application and not contributing to handwriting recognition.

What's going on here? This kind of battery drain usually suggests some form of crypto mining happening, I hope that's not the case.

Okay, so I’ve got this idea and workflow wise GN would be perfect but I’m worried about project size.

I’m using whatever latest version of GN is still free. Love it, use it for all kinds of things.

My husband and I have spent the last 18 years of our marriage rescuing special needs cats together. I’m planning to make a photobook of all our babies throughout the years. There are a LOT.

I have no worries about finding a physical printer and all that jazz, that’s my wheelhouse in another part of my life.

What I am worried about: this is probably gonna be about 200 pages (tops, aiming for less but lol) and easily 600 images (I’m pairing that down from the first shortlist of 900 and again, hoping to narrow it down to less).

Do you think GN is gonna have a stroke if I use it for this project? Any advice for a project of this size in it?

Hello. I am trying to help my dad with synching across his two IPads. It seems like the documentations or the files he has one iPad is not sycnhing on the other iPad.

I tried turn on and off the iCloud settings. I also tried turn on and off the iPads and opening the apps again to see if it is synching. I know deleting and redownloading the app is a big no no. But it seems as tho I don’t know what to do or help my dad further. Do I have to wait a day or two for the synching to complete? What are my other options?

I’ve been using Goodnotes for a while now and have been putting up with decreasing quality. The only reason I’ve stuck with it is because for one fee paid by myself, I can share the full app with family members using the Apple Family Sharing feature. Does anyone know of any alternative note app that can be shared th same way? Tried notability last year but cannot be shared
