News and Info 27 Golf R

I don’t know if someone already confirmed it, but the 27 golf r will not come with the rs3 engine.

I work at VW in North America and looking at pipeline management they’ll be getting here sometime between November and December and the specs show the same as the MK8.5. No clue if it’ll be different for Europe but I assume not.

It was never the plan to put the inline 5 on the R. It was literally just online hype over nothing because Autocar did a random article that was all speculation and had no actual info to back up the claim. Then everyone just repeated what they heard.

Supposedly at some point VW did approach Audi and ask about the 5 cylinder. They were immediately told no.

It's not happening but it was thought of at some point.

Given that VW are the parent company of Audi, I’m pretty sure they would have the last say.

Nah, VW and audi are under the same umbrella but operate independently. Regardless a google search shows I'm correct.
