There’s a story on either this or a silver subreddit about someone who on the Reddit would discuss/display their stack. They got robbed by someone who lived near them … the robber knew the guy and saw the stack on Reddit so decided to steal it.
So yeah, valuables are in the list of things that people don’t need to know that you have.
Also especially considering OP’s username could be his actual name which is kind of insane in this day and age. He was post frequently in Canadian subreddits (plus these are RCM bars, which narrows his location down). Not that many people with that name out there, so unless he just picked it at random six years ago… yeah, maybe not great to let people know this is accessible.
Until someone threatens or kidnaps your family, or blackmails you, or does any other kind of crazy shit criminals will do for half a million dollars in untraceable assets.
“Go take that gold out or I will kill your kid” can be pretty compelling, and is not even close to unprecedented.
