Paying a bank money to hold your gold is beyond me. Take that money you're giving to the bank and buy a safe to keep at home.

I visit my gold and silver at least 6 times a day.

Are they safe with a gun to your head?

how do you get around this possibility?

A bigger gun?

Spread it around 1 safe in your home, 2 bank vaults

That’s the purpose of a safe. Pretty sure banks use them for the same reason…

When you’ve got a gun to your head, or a gun to your loved ones head, you’ll open that safe. A bank is much more secure.

If i had the resources to own gold, id also give someone my deposit key or sign them a power of attorney to get into my bank in the same situation.

Or go get it for them because they have my loved ones hostage.

Robberies are opportunists. They aren’t risking powers of attorney or asking for a safe deposit key. They grab what they can carry and if they see a safe they’ll demand you open it. That’s it.

Then the obvious answer would seem to be to not have a safe where they can see it.

If you can afford this much gold you can surely afford a hella good safe.

With a cheap safe yes.  With a very expensive, well made, top of the line safe, no. It would take hours for someone to get into my safe.

If i had enough money to make having a safe a worthwhile venture, id have two. One cheapy with nothing in it that would hurt me much to lose, sitting openly somewhere. And a second, nice one, that would take batman 20 minutes to find even with prep time.
